"there's an increasingly vocal — and more focused — #NeverTrump movement"

I thought this article must be from a few weeks ago.

I don't think so, it was an illusion conjured by the media, and it helped Trump, and it's over. Too Bad!

I note that you continue to refuse to engage my challenge of stating any plausible scenario whatsoever wherein Ted Cruz proposes to limp into the GOP convention, with 700 delegates or so, and then seize the party nomination from the clear leader Donald Trump, all without irreparably splintering the party, destroying voter enthusiasm, inducing countless Trump voters to stay hom, and consequently causing a Hillary landslide victory.

If you can conjure any realistic scenario that doesn't produce that outcome, then, by all means, please enlighten us.

Because there is no such scenario.

Ted Cruz's egotism and narcissism make Donald Trump's pale in comparison. Cruz has become the caricature of a politician so conceited and self-righteous that he's willing to sacrifice his party, or even the entire country, on the altar of his own blind ambition.

Either state a contrary case or, with all due respect, stop posting your incessant propaganda, because every sentence of every article rings more hollow as more and more people consider the devastating impact of Ted Cruz trying to steal the nomination.

There is, simply stated, no possible outcome that could benefit the party or the country under such a scenario.

If you disagree, then state your case.

Else, admit that Ted Cruz is dead wrong in following his current track.

FReeper Jeff Head is absolutely right about his preferred candidate Ted Cruz. It's time for him to step aside, not for Donald Trump, but for his own good, the good of the party, and the good of the country.

If the situations were reversed, I would be advocating that course of action for Donald Trump.

As I've said, Ted Cruz's ego and ambition are making Donald Trump look like a humble person by comparison.

Ted Cruz has lost. He has now been mathematically eliminated from securing a delegate majority before the convention, and he will limp into the convention itself with fewer than 2/3 of the needed delegates. His fantasy of garnering the nomination, even if successful, would irreparably splinter the party, and guarantee a GOP defeat in November.

As Newt Gingrich so aptly noted, that's simply not going to happen. Not even the crooked GOPe is that stupid.

Vote Trump

It is really not all that complicated.

At this point in time,
Trump has 850 candidates
Cruz has 550 candidates,
and there are 700 outstanding.

Let’s assume that Trump and Cruz split the remaining candidates 50/50.
(which is highly unlikely)

That means they walk into the the convention, and
the first ballot is
Trump = 1200 and
Cruz = 900
(plus another 300 to Kasich and Rubio).

Cruz is holding out that on a second ballot,
at least 400 candidates will change their vote from
Trump, Kasich, or Rubio, and will vote for him.

A more likely scenario is that on a second ballot,
at least 50 candidates will change their vote from
Cruz, Kasich, or Rubio, and vote for Trump.

It is all just simple math.

I just spent 45 minutes of my life watching a republican delegate meeting which taught me a valuable thing. You must commit to a FULL TIME JOB in order to be a delegate.

This is insane in a way in that the delegates must be LAWYERS to even comprehend the rules and regs.

Much less object and make proposals.

It should not be so darned complex that a regular intelligent citizen would be overwhelmed as a delegate. Trust me, most of those people were doing their best trying to follow that labyrinth of legal mumbo-jumbo.

The average every day mom and dad types? SHUT OUT.
