Women are warming up to Donald Trump and with Hillary Clinton's poll numbers steadily ebbing, chances are better than ever the billionaire developer could trounce her in a general election, Rep. Diane Black tells Newsmax TV.
In Tuesday's New York primary, Trump took 59 percent of the female vote despite his war of words with Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, which some saw as a sexist attack.
"The women in New York appreciate what he's saying, when he's talking about the economy getting better," Black, a Tennessee Republican, said Wednesday to J.D. Hayworth on "Newsmax Prime."
"Women represent 52 percent of the population and so they are very concerned about the economy as we all are over the last eight years we have seen a lack of ability to be able to raise our salaries and to be able to have health care for our family.
"Women are looking for someone who will talk about the things that are important to them and obviously Donald Trump is talking about this."

As I said on another thread, given a choice between the boorish, lewd, obnoxious male boss, and the shrewish, conniving female one, women will pick the guy every time.
And no one wants a weak horse.
Once Trump wraps up the nomination, his numbers against Hillary will climb dramatically, especially when he brings his heavy artillery down on Clinton. We saw how fast Clinton went into full retreat when Trump went after Bill Clinton, and how fast Sanders’ numbers increased following Trump’s attack. I suspect that Trump has a whole hailstorm of ads stockpiled, waiting to be unleashed upon her, it will be nothing like she has ever seen before.
Alpha male.
Hardwired.
I’m a woman and I support Trump.
Diane Black voted to reaffirm John Boehner as Speaker of the House the last time he stood for that office. This demonstrates such fatally flawed judgement that come this November, her constituents need to make sure she returns to being a civilian.
I don’t think so. American women idolize Mrs. Bill, who will watch after them, they “think”.
I don’t see how any woman can support hitlary after she has been exposed as an accessory to rape.
Trump will have a lot of help. Literally millions of normal people who accidentally or recently (as in my case,) have read the dozen or so books exposing her special life of unethical, arrogant and criminal behavior.
Here are 7 of them :
The Case Against Hillary Clinton, Peggy Noonan, 2000, Harper
Hell to pay : The Unfolding Story of Hillary..., Barbara Olson, 2001, Regnery Publishing
The Truth About Hillary..., Edward Klein, 2005, Regnery Publishing
HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton, Jonathan Allen, 2014, Crown Publishers
Hillary Unhinged: in Her own Words, Thomas Kuiper, 2015, WND Books
Blood Feud, The Clintons vs The Obamas, 2015, Pinnacle Books
Unlikeable: The Problem with Hillary, 2015, Edward Klein, 2015, Regnery Publishing
As far as I have been able to determine, NONE of these books have been challenged by the Clintons or sued for libel.
Although there is a certain amount of overlap or repetition among these books each has exclusive nuggets from the lives of this criminal couple to make reading them all worthwhile.
I will be happy when just one poll shows trump within 5.
If Herself loses the female vote, by any significant amount, then she loses the one important “advantage” - that of being able to charge “sexism”.
Herself is just not a very likable person, either from a distance, or especially so up close, where her mutterings can easily be heard, along with the occasional hysterical outburst.
I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic, and we should stand up and say, “We are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration!”
Also add this gem: I have a million ideas. The country can’t afford them all.
The First Partner, Joyce Milton, 2000, Harper
Neither do I, but there are a zillion reasons not to support Hillary. I can’t understand how anyone calling themselves an American could make up enough excuses to vote for her.
