Actually, any “duty to assist” would have to absolve the assister of liability for any mistakes made.

It’s the reason why one shouldn’t perform CPR if not CURRENTLY certified to perform it.

In ancient Egypt you were just as guilty of murder if you failed to assist someone being attacked who later died of injuries, but in the modern world we have progressed beyond such primitive notions.
