WASHINGTON (AP) The Latest on campaign 2016 (all times Eastern):

Donald Trump says he believes transgender people should be able to use whichever bathroom they choose.
Speaking at a town hall event on NBC's "Today" Thursday, Trump said North Carolina's so-called "bathroom law," which directs transgender people to use the bathroom that matches the gender on their birth certificates, has caused unnecessary strife.

I'm not at all sure about that. According to the EEOC, yes. But I don't think the 4th Circuit has said anything on it, and I think the vast majority of states/jurisdictions still base male/female on birth certificates.
From there it gets real hard. But I would like to see a set standard put down for these people (over 18) to be required to posses an ID that certifies that they have gone through a set number of procedures and examinations where they can be cleared to use the other restroom. That ID must be presented at the request of the establishment if they have reasonable cause.
How does any of that address the Constitutional issue? And the determination of which "set number of procedures and examinations" is just a recipe for absolutely endless litigation.
Following a fake, fraud, charlatan, and adulterer “never was” and, hopefully, never will be, King tRump.
That makes more sense and is, unlike your post, true.
The issue is that these things end up being dictated to the states at the federal level. If our President believes it’s acceptable to allow people to make their own decision about which bathroom to use, that opinion has the potential to trickle down (no pun intended)and become federal policy. It concerns me that this isn’t the only liberal opinion the man has that we don’t know about simply because he hasn’t been asked.
Well before you wet yourself in righteous anger let me say that I didn’t say I liked the idea I said it was not the big problem of the day. If you change your mind about the president because of his stance on bathroom etiquette I’m laughing. At you.

The only thing FAKE in your post is YOU.
What is confused is our society and anyone who promotes it, in anyway, is contributing to the mental and moral demise of this country. I can tell you, without any doubt, my nine year old granddaughter does not deserve to be in a public bathroom with a freak, using political correctness as a ploy to take advantage of her. This is more LGBT conditioning of our children, so that when they grow up they won’t see a difference in the sexes, which mainstreams their abnormalities.
Donald Trump has a granddaughter right? I guess he doesn’t have to worry about her being sexually abused in a public bathroom. THERE IS NOTHING RIGHT ABOUT THIS!
We're never going to get the wall either. How will you rationalize that when it finally becomes clear to you?
Trump's shoulders aren't big enough to carry the entire weight so what will he do when you capitulate on that issue as well?
Or will you find the sand necessary to hold your ground on that one? Do you have the fortitude necessary for the wall but not for protecting little girls from perverts in the bathroom? Again, if you won't stand for the most innocent and vulnerable members of society, how can anyone expect you to stand for something like a wall? Weak and unprincipled people are ruining the country. Are you friend or foe?
That’s why it is the hard part.
There are so many minefields that this issue ought to have been tackled in small pieces in separate legislation that avoided the whole “trans” social issue for now (because it is a loser) and instead focused on punishment of actual crimes.
Let the instances (sadly when they occur) get major attention if it was a perv perpetrator that “felt” like a girl or boy. Force the LGBQTs to either get tarred by defending these people, or be open to even more “reasonable legislation” to safeguard the public (and by extension give them a PR “out”).
In the end (albeit slowly) we push back against this.
North Carolina went too big, too fast.
>>Tell us what Congress has done to stop this freight train.
it’s not a federal government issue.
Yet the corporate minded candidate seemingly backs the national corporate boycott of NC.
North Carolina simply codified the practice that exists in most of the country.
The only way they will ever feel normal is when all are forced to embrace their way of life. So it goes.
These bathroom ordinances/laws across this nation are no accident. It was a coordinated effort that has hit the nation pretty much at the same time.
Here in Houston, the ordinance called ironically, “Hero ordinance” introduced by the previous lesbian mayor Parker was ultimately defeated in the courts.
Through all of this, most have forgotten that Houston city officials subpoenaed local pastor's sermon notes to investigate whether they were preaching at the pulpit against her Hero Ordinance. Tyranny by the leftist mayor on display. Set folks on fire here in Houston.
Not only trying to force citizens to accept men in woman's bathrooms, locker rooms and showers, they attempted to silence pastors from preaching against the ordinance.
I would not be at all surprised if the roots of this transgendered push across the nation led right to the white hut.
“No one is expecting him to make it “the centerpiece of the election.” But if his idea of taking it off the table is to adopt the position and the language of the LGBT crowd, then conservatives have a right to get mad. “
Mad? Ok.
But at what?
The issue was put on the table by North Carolina making a law they either could not effectively defend in the public sphere, or were too damn stupid to craft it so it didn’t get them flamed into the ground.
When they took their own law off the table, they took the issue off the table. They gave the left all of the marbles, and let them define the issue as North Carolina “persecuting trans people”.
It’s a loser issue for anyone. A needless distraction for Trump when he needs to get back to his central economic and illegal immigration message.
All his bluster will go away the first month. He’ll call a press conference and say he tried everything possible to do it but just couldn’t get it done...ala Bill Clinton (his hero)!!
Personally, I think Trump supporters should be mad at themselves for supporting someone who has demonstrated his core liberal beliefs repeatedly - but then, that is just me.
A man who is unable to stand up to perverts and tell them it is wrong to allow grown men in girl designated bathrooms and locker rooms isn't fit to be president. If he won't stand up to the small % of people who support perversion, how will he ever survive what he'll have to deal with in trying to build a wall on the Mexican border (and make them pay for it), or when dealing with communist totalitarians on trade or stopping Islamic mass murderers? Are those latter things representative of the more important problems we face? If you want those things to be resolved, you're going to need a man who possesses unshakable principles and courage, and the testicular fortitude to stand up for them. Trump won't stand up to the gay mafia, but he'll have a backbone of steel when dealing with Putin, the Chinese, Islamic terrorists, and global liberals, the media, fellow republicans, religious leaders and hundreds of millions of people aligning against him on building a wall? Right.
You're far too old to be believing in fairy tales. But hey, whatever makes you feel good. Because feelings are all that matter.
Guess the joints that put “Sitters” and “Standers” on the door were ahead of the times.
I understand and agree 100% with your thinking and Trump does have grandchildren, both girls and boys. However, how do we enforce this?
Do we put pecker police in front of all the public potties?
How conservative is that? It is going to get very expensive
The problem is the liberals are going out of there way to make this perversion “legal” while the conservative are going out of their way to do the opposite. They are both wrong
I just want it to go back to the way it was
If a transgender (these people have serious mental problems, and they are more likely to do more harm to themselves then another person) wants to use the ladies room, let them. But I don’t want to make it “legal”, we make it “legal” then we have all the perverts believing they have a legal right and this can hinder police arresting perverts who are found in the ladies room. If we make it “illegal” now we have to enforce it, who is going to pay for the Pecker Police to stand outside checking for it? How are we going to enforce it? This is getting stupid and wasting our time discussing it.
Also the perverts will still go in the ladies room regardless of the law, I just don’t want it “legal” and I don’t want big government watching over it either.
This issue is the liberals way to make us “step in it” and Trump did a great job of doing what he did.
We need to pick our battles here
Plus in states or areas where this is legal, we need women and girls to start demanding this to end, that would help more then politicians sticking there noses in this.
Makes you wonder why we have a Congress.
Every time Ted starts mouthing off about someone not doing something, he forgets he’s also someone.
He’s someone with a lot of power. Poor dear never realized he could actually do good things with it.
It may well be that the configuration of bathrooms will change. Maybe new restrooms will accommodate only one person at a time. Small restaurants and business’s have those now. Men and women use the same restroom. Nobody gets upset about that.
I have yet to see any scary he/shes in any ladies room. Apparently you must be encountering this all the time. In fact why don’t you share some of these horror stories with us?
Lets be real about how many of these people even exist. Not that many in the grand scheme of things.
We are rising up against it in Washington State. There is an entire movement to get this changed as it wasn’t even imposed on us by law. It will be on our ballot this November.
