Eagles keyboardist and guitarist Joe Walsh says he's pulling out of a Cleveland summer concert he thought would be a nonpartisan event for veterans' families because it's actually a launch for the Republican National Convention.
Walsh says in an emailed statement he's "very concerned about the rampant vitriol, fear-mongering and bullying coming from the current Republican campaigns." He says he "cannot in good conscience endorse the Republican party in any way."

I hate the Eagles.
Did he say that "They're never going to win a Super Bowl". I know they won't win one in my lifetime.
Joe, you can check out anytime you like.
Netflix had a documentary of the History of the Eagles. Very interesting and a lot of background information. Worth the watch...
Who’s Joe Walsh? There has to be a million guitarists out there that can play one, so replace him. No big deal!
OK, let’s get a real entertainer.
Good riddance! You sing like a wailing cat!
Get in line, Joe. You ain’t the only one
We usually do not watch this sort of program, but the husband and I were stuck in a hotel room while attending a funeral for a relative. On the TV was a documentary on the Eagles.
The DH loves their music. I can take it or leave it, and, although I am a boomer, I never really paid that much attention to the Eagles or to any of their musical cohort. But I did remember the Joe Walsh song about staying in hotels where they “tear up the walls”. When he appeared in the onscreen interview making reference to this behavior, he seemed quite proud of it. There was nostalgia on his face and in his voice and not the slightest tinge of regret. I was floored.
Cute, but joe Walsh was not a member of the band that made that song famous.
Joe ruined the Eagles a few years later.
And where is the proof that it would be a political event? None except the narrative that the left created out of their sick minds. The left is destroying America.
I can’t help it. I actually enjoy that song when I hear it.
Kickass musician, but he and we will be much better off if he, and other musicians, stick to music.
Now that you brought up benefit for Veterans, did Trump ever actually give that money to the Vet Groups? Last I herd he was still “holding” it for them.......
The Eagles played Take it Easy and later Get Over It at almost all their concerts. Joe Walsh played guitar on stage for these songs hundreds if not thousands of times.
Jackson Browne wrote and sang Take it Easy. The Eagles popularized it. Glen Frey wrote “It’s a girl my Lord in a flat bed Ford slowing down to take a look at me.” Don Henley wrote Get Over It.
If the RNC deliberately misled Joe, I can see his point.
I was a pretty big Eagles fan until the hotel California album was released. I’m very familiar with walsh’s work with them, and I really don’t care for it at all.
In Winslow AZ, there was a Jackson Browne look alike statue but I’ve heard since then a fire in the neighborhood prompted its removal.
I do recommend a stay at the old railroad hotel in Winslow, la posada, restored to its former glory maybe 15-16 years ago.
As for Walsh playing older Eagles tunes, of course he did. My point, not a terribly deep one, is that he had zero part in the song’s creation.
THIS JUST IN!! Prince came back from the dead to announce the cancellation of future appearances in NC and MISS over their “hateful anti-trans” legislation
