Harrisburg, PA
(Pennsylvania German: Harrisbarig) is the capital city of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania and the county seat of Dauphin County. With a population of 49,673, it is the tenth-largest city in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
Harrisburg's site is thought to have been inhabited by Native Americans as early as 3000 BC. The first European contact with Native Americans in Pennsylvania was made by the Englishman, Captain John Smith, who journeyed from Virginia here in 1608 and visited with the local tribe. In 1719, In 1785, John Harris, Jr. made plans to lay out a town on his father's land, which he named Harrisburg. In the spring of 1785, the town was formally surveyed by William Maclay, who was a son-in-law of John Harris, Sr. In 1791, Harrisburg became incorporated and was named the Pennsylvania state capital in October 1812, and has been since.

We have day flights to DC or used to have from both Louisville and INDY. My friend goes every year with her twin to place the CHRISTMAS wreath on their father’s grave.

I watched that after getting home from the INDY rally. It brought me to tears

Why of why do I seem to miss everything?
Hoosiermama I can’t tell you how many times I have used the men’s room because the line was shorter I had to go poddy, I could have cared less!!! what the heck s all of this hoopla about??? In high schools it might be a different situation where young people might feel uncomfortable, I frankly don’t understand how such a minuscule piece of the population has ANY control over this AT ALL!!! Our country is going to hell in a hand basket!!!
Airport very close to Cemetery (National)
They have a great wreath program, but it does not cover the columbarium...I wonder now that they built the wall around the area and made it for Niches too...totally outdoor location seems to make it possible.
Nice that they can go...909 miles each way for me unless I am visiting family out near Dulles airport and I chose to not fly with my dog...cost and they often get sick.
15 years caring for Grandson in summer has ended with college...just not needed anymore. Some family driving to Florida this summer ...my 80th birthday so I guess that is why.
Again, I get a great deal of good feelings by doing it.

I was born after his death, and WW2, but “knew” him from stories about him...
Best dancer, happy go lucky, sweet, and funny. A loving son, and brother. A hardworking farm boy who answered his Country’s call in defense of freedom. Like many who served and sacrificed, they truly earned their Greatest Generation title.
