Conservatives who support Ted Cruz were lost by Trump the day he started referring to him as Lying Ted. Trump was only thinking about himself this entire cycle and he personally denigrated some very good conservatives. He wasn’t thinking about unity then and shouldn’t expect it now. On to the second ballot at Cleveland.

This whole talk about a second ballot is only intended to give Cruz cover. He can I win on the first ballot second Ballot or any ballot.

Nobody in my lifetime has ever defeated all Trump has so far in this process

The lying Ted perjorative may hurt feelings but it’s nothing compared to what’s been arrayed against the soon to be GOP nominee Donald Trump

So, you apparently would prefer a divided party that loses to Clinton, all because of pride.

I understand the disappointment of having your guy lose...but also the need to put that aside and unify to defeat the common enemy.

With genuine respect, I urge you to think this through as time passes. Hillary isn’t the 2nd best choice.

Then if Cruz wins it on the secnd ballot he losses ~7 million votes Trump would have gotten.

need a unity ticket, as Trump leads that puts Cruz as the VP slot.

You have to consider that Trump is not the professional politician we have grown accustomed in our body politics. He is no sweet talking JFK (who probably wrote the book on adultery) or der Slickmeister, Bill Clinton. He is from the business world, which operates on a very competitive level. Know for certain, Donald Trump will stick up for the United States of America. He has the toughness to fight for our freedoms. I know, because I grew up in a construction family. My father did not mince words and was as tough as the concrete used to build stadiums. Because of that, our family was very successful with his eight kids. The governor of the State of Washington once asked him if he would run for President of the United States. My father declined because his eight kids were more important.

It is time to consider our nation before the political games and the nit picky focus on choice of language. We need to unite now and throw our efforts together against a mortal cancer embodied in the Beast, der Hildebeast who will take away our freedom to use any language we choose or any freedom guaranteed by the Constitution.

Boo hoo hoo. Grow up. Trump supporters and Trump himself have been called every name in the liberal playbook by Cruz and his proxies. I've been prepared to support Cruz if he beat Trump regardless. That's how you beat Democrats.

Vote Trump!

Exactly. But, Cruz should not have decended into the gutter with Trump on name calling and the back and forth back biting.

He should have just stuck with his message and his vision of what he would accomplish as president.

It is not about “He” or feelings...It is about the Country.

Numerically no one except Trump can get first ballot. It is the only way to make sure of no GOPe Hanky Panky, and anyone who has been around FR should know not to trust them.

United We stand, Divided we say “Hello Hillary” :(

“Conservatives who support Ted Cruz were lost by Trump the day he started referring to him as Lying Ted.”

That did it for me. Last night he was Senator Cruz this and Senator Cruz that, trying to act presidential! Today he was back to “Lyin’ Ted” again.

Just keep slamming Cruz, Free Republic, and then tell us to come together while you tell us what losers we are—that’s why it won’t be easy getting us over.

I disagree with your statement, “Conservatives who support Ted Cruz were lost by Trump the day he started referring to him as Lying Ted.”

I supported Ted Cruz. Indeed, I attended a locally-sponsored Cruz event and donated funds toward his campaign. I voted for him in our state’s primary.

Although I find political campaigning repugnant, it is what it is... They all throw mud and tout their own horns, so to speak.

What is pertinent, IMHO, is that ALL conservatives come together to support the candidate who receives the 1,237 delegate votes as represented by the votes of the people.

If/when Mr. Trump attains the 1,237 delegates, I will vote for Trump in the general election.

Cruz is a liar to a degree. This idea that he is winning landslides where millions of people vote is a huge lie. Trump won about 9 out of 12 states during that time.

It is also part of the process to accuse people of degrees of lying.

God forbid that a candidate who gets caught lying ought to be called a liar.
