I’d take either one. I don’t know why a lot or FReepers have to be so overly opinionated. This place is fun and informative. The elitists are loving the bickering. I usually don’t have a say but we in commiefornia might have a little say this time around. Oh well.
I'll stand with you on this hill. If we die on it we die on it. Trump is a buffoon and an embarrassment and an abuse of power waiting to happen. His over inflated ego is very much like Nebuchadnezzar whom God brought down very low to wander the earth as an animal. I can't think of anyone in my lifetime who has exhibited more gross arrogance and know-nothingness than Dirty Don. His claim to fame: He's an insult factory and a user and abuser of get-rich opportunities (though he had the advantage of starting rich). UGH! How low so-called conservatism has sunk (not true constitutional conservatism, just a faux conservatism) and what a different website FR is from what it used to be back when it made an important contribution.

Your delegate dream does not take into account the GOPe using the delegates to oust Ted.

Vote Trump
It’s interesting that Cruz supporters, by a vast majority, have continued to say we will support the nominee, even if it’s Trump.
I see just the opposite from those holier than thou Trump supporters who are vowing they will never vote for Cruz.

So, anyone who votes for Trump has lost their mind?
Trump has two reasonable paths to the nomination. One, he gets a majority of bound delegates before the convention. With his big momentum coming out of New York this is now more likely than it was a week ago.
The other path is to persuade unbound delegates to back him on the first ballot. Some party insiders believe that if Trump gets 1100 delegates he won't have much trouble getting to 1237.
Cruz's only path is to win a contested convention. To believe that's possible you must assume that Cruz's cult is more skilled at insider manipulation and gaming the system than the GOPe network is.
Of course there's the hope that the GOPe has thrown in with Cruz. But why would the GOPe back Cruz over Trump, or over a GOPe candidate? He's not popular, he doesn't poll well against Hillary, and he's losing badly to Trump.
If there's a contested convention the most likely nominees are Trump or some GOPe stooge. Even loser Kasich has a better shot than Cruz.
