I find his comment very curious. I have read that Cruz has an "as if" personality. If I get the gist right, he takes on a persona fit for a venue and since he is such a great memorizer, he can say the right things. Although, this time, it is as though he pushed the wrong button and said the wrong preprogramed thing. That line was meant for Bernie or Hillary!

IMO he needs to start talking about issues that should be in the platform. Immigration, IRS, common core, DHS, NSA, FCC, etc.
I suspect he’s already been warned not to talk about half of these.
