I find his comment very curious. I have read that Cruz has an "as if" personality. If I get the gist right, he takes on a persona fit for a venue and since he is such a great memorizer, he can say the right things. Although, this time, it is as though he pushed the wrong button and said the wrong preprogramed thing. That line was meant for Bernie or Hillary!

LOL! Interesting what you say but I’ve always found that Cruz is the same no matter who he talks to! That Uriah Heep quality that is so strong in him, the dramatic pauses and dramatic hit on certain words (”EXACTLY!”) that would have made a first year acting teacher stop it cold. Alan Derschowitz did him no favors in not stopping that crap.
