After much speculation on the possible replacement of Alexander Hamilton’s portrait on the $10 bill, it appears the nation’s first Secretary of the Treasury will stay put on the heavily-circulated note. While the high-profile support voiced by the cast and creator of the popular Broadway musical, Hamilton, could not have hurt the founding father’s case to remain on the 10, it seems current Treasury Secretary Jack Lew counts himself among Hamilton’s admirers and was reluctant to replace him from the beginning.
This doesn’t mean things will stay as they are. CNN notes that a “mural-style depiction of the women’s suffrage movement” will be added to the back of the 10, in keeping with the Treasury’s stated intention of recognizing women’s contributions to the civic life of the nation.
Lew commented on the redesign process, telling CNBC, “When we started this conversation not quite a year ago, it wasn’t clear to me that millions of Americans were going to weigh in with their ideas.” He continued, “We’re not just talking about one bill. We’re talking about the $5, the $10, and the $20. We’re not just talking about one picture on one bill. We’re talking about using the front and the back of the bill to tell an exciting set of stories.”
Perhaps the most interesting new revelation concerns the $20 bill. The 20 had been singled out as particularly ripe for redesign due to the complicated legacy of our seventh President, Andrew Jackson, whose advocacy for the Indian Removal Act of 1830 troubles many. This change seemed to be postponed, however, as the 10 dollar bill was in greater need of an update to modernize anti-counterfeiting measures. Now it seems the Treasury will also go ahead with the change to the 20, adhering to the original proposal that a woman be featured on the note.
According to the CNN article, the updated $20 bill is unlikely to be issued until 2030. It also notes that future Treasury secretaries will have the power to adjust the proposed changes. Secretary Lew said the Treasury could make an official announcement regarding the alterations as early as this week.
Whatever they do it will be PC, so I say take the Democrat Jackson off and replace him with a Republican. Booker T Washington works.
A cashless society will be the end of your freedom and privacy. Every digital or electronic transaction can be tracked, taxed or be assessed a fee. You will never be in possession of your own money. It could be taken from your account without your permission. Negative interest rates anyone? Or access to your funds could be limited in amount, frequency or completely terminated if you step out of line or behave improperly...say register on the wrong web site for instance.

Don’t circulate the $20 bill unless you have to. Ask for your change in $10 bills.
We got rid of the Susie B and the sagageweaha (sp?) that way, and it can happen to the “new” $20 bill too.
Actually, poetic justice would require that he be replaced with a Native American, preferably a Cherokee.

I always avoid twenties. Politics doesn't have anything to do with it.
The attendant at my parking garage was always making change for $10 and saying I gave him $10 when I gave him $20, so I figured never again and always use tens if I know I have to change them.
But the same troubled many no doubt are fine with the complicated legacy of Her Heinous Hillary Rotten Klintoon who lavished praise on KKKer Robert Byrd, threw around anti-semitic slurs, and, just last week, was part of a racial joke with Comrade DiBlasio.
Andrew Jackson went to Washington on the theme, “Route the Vipers Out,” and was basically an anti-establishment candidate.
I wish they would leave him on the $20 for that reason alone if no other...but what can you expect from the Obama admin and the people they have appointed and hired over the last eight years?

Good. Hamilton needs to stay. He was our first Treasury Secretary and pro-central bank, so it makes sense. Also, he was anti-slavery.
Jackson, like modern Democrat politicians of today, de-humanized and exploited African-Americans. In his case he became rich off of African slavery like many early Democrats. He also hated central banks. Makes sense that if someone has to go it should be him.
Sexist pandering, plus there is no woman deserving to be on the $20.
His “minions” were his supporters who came from Tennessee and the frontier to celebrate.
Look at the outstanding success of the Susan B. Anthony dollar coin!
