The left of the Democratic Party has long been uneasy about Clintons coziness with the corporate world. But the emphatic, persistent way in which Sanders is attacking her on the topic risks painting her as a cipher of Wall Street and such a charge could drain liberal grassroots enthusiasm if she locks up the nomination.
I am worried about the increasingly harsh tone and tenor of this campaign [that could] turn off Sanders supporters in the general [election], said strategist Jim Manley, a former aide to Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who has endorsed Clinton. Im afraid theyre going to stay home.
The tensions escalated on Monday, when the Sanders campaign alleged there were serious apparent violations of campaign finance laws under what it termed a joint fundraising deal between Hillary Clintons campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook shot back with a statement accusing the rival campaign of false attacks.
Mook added, As Senator Sanders faces nearly insurmountable odds, he is resorting to baseless accusations of illegal actions and poisoning the well for Democratic candidates up and down the ticket.
Clinton currently leads Sanders by 244 pledged delegates, according to The Associated Presss delegate tracker, and has an even bigger advantage among the partys unpledged superdelegates. She leads Sanders by 10 points in most polls of New York, where 247 pledged delegates are at stake.
Manley said that amplified rhetoric in the run-up to the New York primary has brought the party to the brink of serious problems.

Now I’m gonna have that Top Gun music stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
And Bernie flying down the road with Hillary on the back of his bike.
Nothing was say or do will stop this hag from stealing this nomination. Prayer isn’t even working!
How I loathe her, and despise all she stands for.
Meanwhile Goldman Saks is tanking on Wall Street.
Isn’t this one of her big investors?
Though I fear a Clinton/Bernie ticket will mollify her haters.
“I am worried about the increasingly harsh tone and tenor of this campaign [that could] turn off Sanders supporters in the general [election],”
Yessss...yesss...let the hate flow through you...
There is exactly zero chance Hillary chooses Bernie as her running mate.
Bernie is pointing out that Crooked Hillary is, well, crooked. Not to mention a crook. The Dems don’t like this but Bernie has never cared what the DNC thinks.
Trump has the bucks. I’d be glad to throw some of his seed money in the street as part of a continuing demonstration of Crooked Hillary’s corrupt behavior.
I wouldn’t be throwing my own money. The Obamas have seen to it that I don’t have enough of that to be tossing them on the street corner. But if Trump wants to hand me a roll of dollar bills, I’ll gladly toss them as Her Heinous passes by.
Can we thrown rolls of pennies instead?
Time to start a socialist-democrat Third party.

If Hillary were a more appealing candidate in her own right, none of this would matter, would it? If Hillary is wonderful, why hasn’t she locked this down already, considering we have been told she’s inevitable and all that???
I personally think that Bernie Sanders could be a much more formidable candidate in the Fall than Hillary. Clinton is a walking scandal and Trump will eat her up. Bernie, on the other hand is seen as an amiable grandfatherly type who only wants to help those poor downtrodden millenials. There’s a ton of passion surrounding his campaign and that can be very dangerous. Just ask Hillary.
About a quarter of Sanders supporters have already said they’ll vote for Trump over Hillary, so I’d say both parties have reason for concern.
This lack of depth is the result of Republicans winning state congress / governorships.
The dims have for decades been the party of the super rich. Nice to see the scam brought out in the open.
I wouldn't take that bet. Bernie's millenial supporters seem to loathe Hillary. Putting Bernie on the ticket may be the only way to mollify them.
And don't tell me that millenials are too lazy to vote. the results don't prove that out.
