Sorry Donald, Cruz Spent Thousands, not Millions on Wyoming
Conservative Review ^ | 04/18/16 | Robert Eno

Posted on 04/18/2016 7:18:39 PM PDT by writer33

On Saturday, to blunt his pending loss in Wyoming, Donald Trump went on Fox and Friends to complain about Wyoming’s convention. He cast aspersions on Republican activists in the state, saying they could be bought. If they could be bought, the price was pretty low. Federal Election Commission data shows that up to February 29, 2016, Ted Cruz has reported spending less than $2,200 in the state.

Because election spending is regulated by the federal government, exactly how much Cruz spent, “months before” the Wyoming Convention, is known. The precinct caucuses in Wyoming were held between February 16 and March 1. Federal Election Commission data covers basically the entire caucus process and reveals that the Cruz campaign spent $2,127 between the start of the campaign and the end of February.

And all them individual supporters who had no restrictions on what they could spend in the effort to "persuade" the delegates spent how much? Just because it didn't come out of Cruz's pocket doesn't mean it wasn't spent - no matter how much one tries to spin the "hard data".

Can't count all the times I got more pleas from the Cruz campaign for "must have and gotta have it now" donations, that would be "matched by generous supporters" if pledged/paid promptly. Who are these "generous supporters"??? Got any hard data on them?????

So if trump spent $10k, he would’ve won?

Nope.
If Sleazy tRump had spent a hundred million he'd still have lost. You see, money can't buy love. The good people of Wyoming simply can't be bought by a vulgar, nasty unprincipled loudmouth from New York.

Since they gave it to their Affirmative Action candidate why did Slick Teddie have to spend any money at all?

Yes, he does. There is no way to win the nomination unless you get 1,237 delegates.

Those are the rules. Not whim. Not plurality. The MAJORITY. Those are the rules.

Theo, Theo, Theo, you are parsing words the same way Cruz does in an attempt to intentionally mislead people. You know much better than that. Trump does not need to get to 1237 before the convention to win on the first ballot. The leadership has control over hundreds of “unbound delegates” if Trump is a little short they will steer enough of them his way for him to be the nominee. The only way this wouldn't happen is if Trump were to falter big time before the convention or if he signaled to them that he was going to be extremely disruptive to the party.

We are seeing a lot of posturing from the party leadership, Cruz and Trump. The leadership appears to have aligned themselves with Cruz and completely infiltrated his campaign team, but they have the same amount of dedication to him as Romney did to Kasich. Cruz has been used as a tool for the leadership to pry delegates away from Trump. But they are doing this not to defeat Trump but to flex their muscle and to try and get Trump under their control. It has all been a form of negotiation.

The party leadership is perfectly happy to go with the narrative that Cruz has won delegates in Colorado, Wyoming, and elsewhere where the voters had no real input because of his “superior ground game”. Wyoming is a perfect example. The Cruz campaign actually invested very little time, effort, or money in Wyoming. The party leadership had complete control over the Wyoming process. They gave the delegates to Cruz as a way to show Trump the type of control that they have over the process. Cruz has become just a hapless pawn in this game.

The more delegates the leadership can siphon off before the convention, the more control they will be able to negotiate away from Trump. You don't seem to get that Cruz lost the game around a month ago. The only real hope that he had is that Trump would falter big time before the convention.

We have just seen the last big push by the establishment in Utah, Wisconsin, Colorado and Wyoming. That was their big show. For the most part the remaining states before the convention heavily favor Trump. The polls show that Trump is starting to surge again. Cruz tried to take credit for muscle flexing by the party leadership in Colorado and Wyoming. But this has hurt more than helped him. It played right into the Lyin’ Ted narrative, especially when he went on national TV and referred to Colorado and Wyoming as 11 victories in a row or whatever it was he said. It just made him look stupid and even more dishonest.

It is becoming more and more obvious every day that the GOP insiders who have now completely infiltrated Cruz's campaign team could not care less about Cruz's image or his future. He is now being used like I have never been seen before. They are now making him look like a caricature of himself. It is not an accident, I don't think at this point he has any control left over what is going on with his campaign. Cruz is too smart to be making the types of public relations mistakes he has been making lately. His image and career are being destroyed, sadly his dedicated followers such as yourself can't even see it.

Trump was perfectly capable of a major win in Wyoming.

Actually, the way the game was rigged in Wyoming, the only person who was going to win is whoever the party leadership decided was going to win. Trump has hired good people and they knew this and chose to not play along. It would have hurt Trump's negotiating position with the GOP leadership if he had put a major effort into it and the party still chose to give it all to Cruz.

All we are seeing right now is a lot of posturing. Unless some type of major unseen development was to take place Trump will be the nominee. There is no way that Cruz will be the nominee. His campaign team has now been completely infiltrated by party insiders. They are not working for Cruz, they are working for the party. That is why they have Cruz looking more and more like a caricature of himself and his numbers are tanking. Cruz's usefulness to the party is scheduled to end today. When he goes down all the blame for the disenfranchising of millions of voters will go down with him. The party elite are all going to be stabbing him in the back.

We’ll see.

Actually tonight we are seeing in a big way. The future is becoming much more clear. At 9:25pm with 8% in, Trump has 65% and Cruz has 13%. So much for a “plurality”.

New York, right? Yeah. New York.

Screw flyover country, right? They’re the little people. Irrelevant. Not worth the time. Not worth the recognition.

Tallyoe, you are living in a dream world and apparently have no clue about the actual mechanics of what is actually taking place. Trump is just beginning to surge.

But I do agree with you, it is not Cruz who has been cheating. What we saw most recently in Colorado, and Wyoming was actually the GOP leadership flexing its muscle and showing Trump what they were capable of. It had basically nothing to do with Cruz. Cruz has just been a tool for the GOP leadership in their negotiations with Trump.

After what has taken place in New York tonight you should realize that it is all over for Cruz. His team has been infiltrated by GOP insiders. Cruz no longer has any real control over them. They are the ones working with leadership to manipulate the system. After the leadership abandons Cruz they are going to hang him with all this crap to end his career. American’s hate a cheater and a liar. Cruz has played right into their hands. I don’t see Cruz even getting a second term in the senate. If he tries to run for president again, he will make Santorum look like a superstar.

It is Cruz and the leadership of the GOP that decided to screw millions of voters in flyover country by not giving them the opportunity to vote. Cruz and the GOP leadership do not trust the “little people” to choose them. And rightly so.

“... by not giving them the opportunity to vote.”

You are ignorant of how primaries are conducted. Thousands voted. But only those who “showed up.”

You are apparently ignorant of the fact that Cruz doesn't win primaries. How many primaries has Cruz won again? Do you even know? I don't think that you do! Cruz has gotten millions less votes than Trump.
