Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney is again warning his party of the dangers of a Donald Trump nomination, saying a three-man race likely paves the way for the New York billionaire to capture the nomination on the first ballot of this summer's GOP convention in Cleveland.
The former Massachusetts governor, in an interview on "The David Gregory Show" podcast says Tuesday's New York primary is an important moment in the primary fight.
"If (Gov. John Kasich and Sen. Ted Cruz) are both going at it aggressively until the very end then I think Trump gets it on the first ballot," Romney said.

it’s interesting that Glenn Beck screams that it’s the opposite and that it only helps Trump.
Is there any truth to this?

My guess is some delegates might like to fly around on Air Trump or perhaps get a membership to Mar-a-Lago, Romney told Gregory, a CNN political analyst, referring to the Trump owned resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
What an obnoxious puke! It’s not TRUMP who’s bribing delegates, is it, LOSER?
Attention, Governor Kasich.
Your kneecaps have just been threatened.
If Trump ends up with just 1100 (worse case scenario), Kasich's 144 (and counting) will put Trump over the top.
I hope that is not necessary and I hope that Trump does not make Kasich his VP pick. But in the end, I do see Kasich supporting Trump over Cruz.
“...Romney, the guy who in 2012 showed almost ZERO interest in actually winning when it came to 0bama...”
I don’t think Romney actually wanted to be president. I don’t think he wanted to have the responsibility...He just wanted the limelight while running...
He can now try to campaign like a bulldog because whoever he campaigns hard for will have the responsibilities, not him...
He STILL gets in the limelight...
Who’s your daddy, Mitt?
Trump has the strategic timing/foresight of Genghis Khan - and I am saying that as a compliment.
He lost the nomination when he lost the South.
True words
I’ve been saying for awhile it’s Kasich, probably as the VP. Trump has been largely complimentary of Kasich with the exception of some scuffles over Lehman early on and a few days before the Ohio primary. Also, Manafort and Charlie Black (former partner) have been friends for years. Kasich may well get the VP nod if needed. Also, Christie has a shot at it as well, as NJ’s 51 delegates are key to Trump securing the nomination. Also, Christie owns those 51 delegates which would be huge in the unlikely event of a 2nd ballot.
Kasich is staying in because per Ohio law, if he drops out, Trump gets his 66 delegates from Ohio. Great bargaining chip for both which is why it is likely that Kasich gets the VP nod.
I doubt either one can deliver all of his supporters to the other.
I think Romney is right, but I would take it further. Kasich is in it, because Trump promised him something. They worked together in Michigan, is campaigning against Cruz in New York, and I wonder what Kasich got for his support.
Do NOT believe anything Mittens says.
He’s as dirty as they come ...
Mitt the Choker.
Low-Energy Jeb.
Carly the Face.
Lyin’ Ted Cruz.
Crooked Hillary.
