Up late, and watching CNN and the Pope has landed on the Greek island of Lesbos, and the "refugees" have smartphones taking pictures and selfies with the Pope.
Well there never was any goodness there except for what was furnished by the Lord and allowed in by the humanity concerned.
My own hobby horse is the ubiquity of the church-state model. It infused “society” with a vague sense of “goodness” that could not have risen to the gospel intensity that the bible-era church knew.
As C. S. Lewis put it, a nice society, content in its niceness but not otherwise earnestly turned to God, would be as lost as a wicked society, and might be even harder to save. It would think it had it all, when it was poor, blind, and naked.
There is a point where the Lord won’t let this kind of niceness suffice any more and it looks like we’ve hit it.
My own perceived responsibility at this point to the Lord is to push gospel to the world. Not the attenuated gospel of a church/state melange, but the concentrated gospel that can be had amongst an independent church.
And as for me... I’m wicked.
Yes, I confess it... I’m wicked.
God’s grace is an utter surprise to me. It’s one thing to talk about it in the abstract, another thing to see it happen in the concrete.
And God knew I was wicked, but purposed to save me anyhow, and so day by day by His application of grace, I become a little less wicked.
When the world understands the same thing about itself, that its niceness or “inherent goodness” is at best superficial and finite, and that God insists it embrace His own larger infinite goodness because there is no other way for it to be fit to heaven... then it will be at a moment of truth. It might take war, it might take crime, it might take sickness, it might take poverty, it will take suffering. But God knows that, in the end, we will agree with Him that temporary sojourns in all those things are superior to being lost in lies forever.
That’s an accurate perception of the reality of our times. It’s basically really smart advertising and every picture tells a story. Speed matters and speed is essential in communication.
It would be beneficial to let freepers know that it is allowed and encouraged to redistribute your memes. They would have a much broader exposure, assuming we all feel pretty much the same.
-—> My goal is not to impress freepers, but to get them to post memes on FB so their “friends” will see them and share them.<-—
That’s a fine statement. right there.
And thanks for all your hard work and effort.
I’d suggest adding in some devils shown giving wicked advice. It isn’t “just” about society or “just” about ISIS or “just” about the Roman church or any other part of Christendom.

What else can we do? It’s more effective than standing on a street corner wearing a sandwich board sign.
Well I guess my spot is probably in the proclaiming of the gospel to all nations. It’s the one that I seem to have the best temperament for (as I manage to step back from wickedness).
Some will believe, some won’t. The ones who believe will be blessed. The ones who won’t will have been warned as the Lord wanted.
I see my family as more spiritual than physical. Life circumstances have left me single, but I live in a great cloud of witnesses.
Billboards, if well done, can be credible.
And I think we lose and waste a lot of even what enjoyment we can get through the physical world, by asking too much of it. By all means let it be ephemeral. God grants us each day our daily bread and some of it can be spectacular. Thank God for what we have enjoyed and is now past, rather than ruing the fact that it is now past. Because He can bring more in its own context. We forget our past sorrows because we know we have weathered them. He promises we will also weather our future sorrows.
I agree, and I salute those patriots who pay to put them up.
This pope is a SHAME .
Only a servant of the new world order and politically correct !
I am wondering if he is really a disciple of CHRIST
I am a catholic
This article title sounds like a set-up for a joke punchline.
Say What?
The catch is Muhammad Marx does not THINK about building walls ...
Because he’s a useful idiot for their cause and they know it.
That was the best laugh I had all week! Thanx!
>>Whats really missing, IMHO, is a world-independent kind of agape love.
But then we go to church and we want comfortable seats, free day care, free free-trade perfect-blend coffee, and lots of paid staff. Our pastors won’t work a tent-making job so we have to pay them a six-figure salary (because they did, after all, go to seminary and they have a Masters or Doctorate).
And we wonder why our churches seem like a business. (And I’m as guilty as anyone.)
And pay the phone bill?
Father Coughlin did in Benedict?
