Sen. Ted Cruz’s hopes for winning the Republican presidential nomination outright have faded, and he has shifted to a strategy of gaming the rules, angling to send enough double-agent delegates to the July convention to snatch victory from front-runner Donald Trump.
It’s a major reversal for Mr. Cruz, who just weeks ago insisted he would win the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the nomination before the convention. But major wins in Utah, Wisconsin and Colorado have not closed the gap, with a series of East Coast primaries looming.
Now the best option for the senator from Texas is trench warfare at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

The GOPe and Cruz are really suffering a backlash over the machinations to derail Trump.

If the folks aren’t going out to vote for the President, they aren’t going to vote for the Senate or Congressman.
That's because they weren't major wins.
Sigh. Cruz is wrapped in a liberal fantasy narrative as thick as anything Hillary has.

This isn’t cookies in kindergarten.
There was a time when people could hand out checks on the floor of the Texas legislature. I think some chicken magnate was doing it. I’m not sure it’s illegal now but they stopped doing it because it didn’t look good.
Here’s a novel idea.
1. You develop a platform
2. You announce that you have entered the race
3. You address people in public and spread your plans
4. You submit to elections where people get the choose between your plans and the plans of others
5. You let the chips fall where they will
6. You don’t bother trying to get delegates who were fairly won, to switch to you rather than the person who won them.

Exactly. Cruz demonstrates over and over again, he doesn't care about the will of the people. And that's a very dangerous person to put in the Presidency.
Exactly ..meanwhile if Cruz does happen to get a stolen nomination, the rest of us will eye staying at home ...oh well
Freebies, promises or schmoozing to get a delegate to flip is disgusting. I feel that way now and I would feel the same way if they were given a ride on Trump Force 1 and a relaxing stay at Mar-A-Lago. It may be legal but it certainly isn’t ethical. It stinks to high heaven
