The Daily 202: Ted Cruz’s war with Matt Drudge could become a huge problem for his campaign
WaPo ^ | 12 Apr 2016 | James Hohmann

Posted on 04/12/2016 8:08:52 AM PDT by mandaladon

The Drudge Report has aggressively portrayed Ted Cruz’s sweep of all the delegates from Colorado’s Republican convention as a corrupt power grab.

The site named for Matt Drudge, who broke the story of Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky and still runs it, links to nine stories this morning with salacious headlines about the convention. Among them: “Savage: Cruz should disavow rigged Colorado election … Buchanan: Apparatchiks thieve delegates for Ted … 1 MILLION REPUBLICANS SIDELINED … Border Patrol Agents: Colorado Voters Disenfranchised.” Keep in mind that this is three days after the Colorado convention.

Our analytics partners at Zignal Labs say the Drudge attacks are breaking through on social media in a significant way. This word cloud, which tracks all Cruz mentions since Saturday, shows the extent to which Drudge has shaped the conversation about Cruz’s win in Colorado. Note the prominence of the words “cheating” and “drudge”:

This kind of squabbling will only get louder as the delegate wrestling and wrangling intensifies. And it has clearly gotten under Cruz’s skin.

In a radio interview yesterday, the Texas senator ripped into Drudge as an arm of Donald Trump’s campaign. “In about the past month, the Drudge Report has basically become the attack site for the Trump campaign,” he told conservative host Mike Slater. “So every day they have the latest Trump attack. They’re directed at me. … Most days they have a six-month-old article that is some attack on me, and it’s whatever the Trump campaign is pushing that day will be the banner headline on Drudge.”

“By the way, they no longer cover news,” Cruz added of Drudge. “When we win a state, suddenly the state doesn’t matter. You know Colorado — there was no red siren on Drudge when we won all 34 delegates in Colorado.”

Keep underestimating Ted Cruz, that’s how he got THIS far, folks underestimating him.
Ted is using the GOP-e more than they are using him and when he wins the party is going to be “reformed.”
Yeah yeah, some say I’m dreaming but I haven’t drunk the Trump-aid.

For all his other ‘expertise’ Cruz seems to be an expert in burning bridges behind him.

“Maybe, this is Cruz learning from Trump?”

If this is Ted learning, he flunked the class. You attack the MSM. You don’t attack a news site with 40 million hits a day and is owned by a guy who can wake up in the morning and decide to “kill shot” you, just because !!!

This was a very strange battle to pick.

However, Matt Drudge fully 100% gets it. He understands this is a globalist, communist takeover intent of destroying the United States. So by default, he knows Cruz is one of them.

Drudge dropped into the Alex Jones studio about 3 months ago and did an impromptu interview. It was one of the best I have heard.

You’ve been brainwashed...
- - - - - - - -
Pookie, when you are taking the nice “bar of soap” from the nice Ted Cruz Homeland Security Guard, and walking into the “shower”, just remember you were warned.

Ezekiel 3
16 Now it came to pass at the end of seven days that the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth,
and give them warning from Me:
18 “When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning,
nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life,
that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.
19 “Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way,
he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.
20 “Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity,
and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die;
because you did not give him warning, he shall die in his sin,
and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered;
but his blood I will require at your hand.
21 “Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man that the righteous should not sin,
and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning;
also you will have delivered your soul.”

Nelson, Thomas (2009-02-18). Holy Bible, New King James Version (NKJV) (p. 806). Thomas Nelson. Kindle Edition.

First of all Samson was a Judge during the time before Israel had Kings not a Messiah or savior. YHWH raised him up to bring judgement to the idolatrous Philistines, and he ultimately died in the process of bringing down the Temple of Dagon. Judges 13-16 tells Samson’s story. You should read it.

In case you didn’t notice, while the Constitution says there are three branches of federal government, now there is only one. It is the bureaucracy of the old Executive Department. The Congress is irrelevant, just a fig leaf to deceive the masses. The Judiciary has been taken over by agents of the commercial class. Remember when the Supreme Court ruled that even if the produce from your farm never left you state, it was still interstate commerce because you could be affecting the interstate price of the commodity by displacing produce from out of state.

You are currently ruled, and I do mean ruled, using Contract Law. That started when the Federal Reserve was started, and the 16th and 17th Amendments were ratified. That is how Common Core is promulgated. That is why there are Federal Grants in Aid. These are contracts that are used to control local governments and agencies. Do you think any one would actually feed their kids Michelle’s awful meals if they had any real local control?

So, knowing that the contract law regime needs to be overcome, who do you think could do that? A politician who still is under the delusion that politicians, and not the commercial interests are in charge, or a man who has made his fortune using contract law?

Now Donald Trump could turn on us when he gets into office, but there really is no indication that will happen. What does he have to gain? It is more likely that he will use the current executive powers to dismantle the current corrupt system and restore the Republic you think we still have.

Based on the current pace that Bible Prophecy is being fulfilled, the most likely scenario is that the prospect of a Trump Presidency causes Iran, Russia, China or some combination of them to attack the United States with nuclear weapons. This corresponds with Samson taking down the Temple of Dagon.

So it would be a good idea to get right with YHWH, if you aren’t already. If you are, then you should really read your Bible and pray that you will be found worthy to escape the Wrath to come. If you don’t escape the Wrath to come, then remember: Do NOT take the Mark of the Beast on your forehead or right hand! Just head for the hills! Don’t go back for anything. That is what the Bible tells you to do. Shalom!

So, you have seen this video?

It is sad for people to hope and maybe pray for a conservative family to be destroyed.

He can’t win the general, but if he somehow did Obama will appoint a new SC justice to be approved after Jan 2 but before January 20. When the Senate changes hands because Ted has no coattails, Obama’s justice will agree that Ted is not a NBC. They will distinguish Obama’s situation because Obama was born here, or they won’t address it at all.

“Whoever has gotten to Rush hasn’t gotten to Drudge.”

I cannot listen to Rush lately, his voice has sounded fearful and weird the past two or three months and he is saying things you know he knows are not true.

It is painful to listen to. My own guess is blackmail by the GOPe to take the anti-Trump line.

And BTW, when Rush does the phony old “don’t criticize me for being pro-Trump” does he REALLY think we are that stupid? Although part of me suspects Rush is trying to let folks know he is doing his show under duress.

Is there anything that Ted Cruz will not blame on Donald Trump?

Total crybaby ...

Well Cruz isn’t considered eligible by some and will be the excuse for GOPe to dump him - he is being used - will not be the candidate.

The cartels don’t want Trump - will try everything - and I fear will kill him if need be. (By cartel - just look at the list of fortune-100 companies - yes - cartels - when the government picks the winners and losers it is not capitalism - it is cartel socialism.. )

It is clear that the republicans won’t support the interests of their base over the money they get from overseas interests and the cartels. The corruption is out of control — won’t end well - the end of Reagan’s ‘beacon of light’.

Painting with a broad brush is a weak argument. I’ve never said that Trump attacking the media was smart.

Cruz has most of the media right now (until the general when they’ll turn against him and destroy him to prop up Hillary.) He has very few media outlets against him. He chooses not be happy with what he has, but to attack the few he doesn’t (Bill O’Reilly and now Drudge.) It makes him look egotistical, petty and thin-skinned.

One of the selling points of the Cruz campaign was that, temperamentally, he was not like Trump. That’s now been blown out of the water.

The more Cruz acts like Trump by attacking the media, the more he undermines one of his prime selling points with the electorate. On many levels, this move against Drudge was weapons-grade stupid.

Oh I agree... I don’t even think he will be the nominee

but SCOTUS is the DC powers insurance policy for “Never Ted.... guaranteed”

Cruz is an arrogant politician who is reflective of the DC political class. He thinks he knows better than everyone else.

IF he was less arrogant he would not have taken the South for granted and would not be losing.

For all those Cruzbots that think its clever to go in and become delegates so they can cause mischief you are no better than your slimy boss

Cruz is whining about Drudge? But he liked Drudge this past January. Perhaps Cruz is upset that Drudge has learned more about what Cruz does!

Here's another example:

The next 3 weeks of primaries are not going to be a good news cycle for Ted.

Cruz will be mathematically eliminated in 7 days.

He also blamed Brussels as somehow Trump’s fault - signs of mental instability or paranoia. His statement after the Chicago violence caused many of us to have second thoughts about him. His wording was highly similar to those of Rubio and others.
