Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump may hold a commanding lead over his GOP rivals in the New York primary, but there are at least two state residents who won't be voting for him: His son and daughter.
It was revealed Monday morning on Fox News that both Eric and Ivanka Trump failed to register in time to vote for their dad in the Empire State's April 19 primary.
"Ivanka and Eric Trump unable to register because of the rules," the real estate mogul was told on "Fox & Friends." "Are the rules in New York unfair as well?"
"No. They had a longtime register and they were unaware of the rules, and they didn't register in time," Trump responded. "So they feel very, very guilty."
"I think they have to register a year in advance, and they didn't," he added, "so Eric and Ivanka, I guess, won't be voting."

Chips off the ol’ block.
Old news...Discussed extensively yesterday, but thanks for re-posting again. Gotta get that Trump bashing in from the get go this morning.../s
Looks like the Cruz campaign has a new employee. Remember, quantity counts.
but you can walk up without ID at the last minute and request a ballot.
Something isn’t making sense here.
Wrong. They are registered as unaffiliated
That is a personal decision. For years I voted in primaries thinking that I was doing my civic duty. This election cycle has proven that the DC political class has stacked the process. The final outrage comes in Colorado where folks for trump were not even allowed to put their names into submission
Cruz is a petulant child. He may win the battle of delegates but he had lost the war.
Today I retegistered independent. I will not vote Unipatty ever agaim
You have to be a registered Republican by March 25 to vote in the Republican primary. Not exactly a year in advance.
No worries for reposting. Hell, we’ve seen the ridiculous “Ted Cruz Mistress” crap in so many different versions it’s beyond ridiculous. Besides, I was busy with the family (yes, there is life outside the Free Republic) yesterday and missed this, so thank you for bringing it to light today.
Looks like Trump’s kids are about as knowledgeable about the primary process as their old man. But I’m guessing SOMEHOW this will get blamed on Cruz.
Stuff like this is why Trump is having so many problems lately.
Trump, his staff, and family don't know what they are doing half the time. At some point they will have to get out of that big airplane and get their feet on the ground.
There is more to winning elections than just being a billionaire.
Too busy, or never expected Donald to get this far?
Many of us don't live on FR, so we might not have seen it.
How soon until Trump threatens to sue Eric and Ivanka?
There are 12 or so states with same day registration, and the NYT, Schumer, and the entire democrat party have been pushing it for others for years.
I was truly surprised that they did not have it when they’ve worked overtime shoving it down others’ throats.
Our county has around 245,000 registered voters and only three full-time employees in the election bureau. Yes, they do call on other departments for elections, but the routine stuff of changing, adding and deleting registrations fall on the full-time employees, so a five week deadline is NOT unreasonable.
One, Two, Three...... how long before NY gets a cussin?
Rules? Trump don’t need no stinkin rules.
“The Gang that can’t shoot straight”.
I’m pretty sure that the March 25 date is for first-time voters only. I had to check it out because my youngest turned 18 in February, and he needed to get it done by March 25 (which he did).
Previous voters have to change party affiliations sometime in October of the year before a primary. That would have been Oct. of 2015.
Regards,
Spittin while typin will wreck yur keyboard.
Too bad you picked the “Inept” guy.
How rude to make a Trump follow the rules!
Sounding more like the DONEald ain’t much on details or planning.
Can’t shoot straight? He’s leading the race and has never done this before.
Change of affiliation was by October 15, 2015.
