Laura Bush represents a much bigger problem that we need to face.
I personally know MANY otherwise rational conservative Republican women who say that they will never vote for Trump. The older ones say that they just won’t vote, but some of the younger ones say that they will vote for Hillary over Trump.
It is possible to win back the presidency with a majority of blacks and Hispanics wedded to the Democrat party, but it is not possible to win if we lose most of the 50.8% of the population that are women.
If Trump gets the nomination I will vote for him, just like I held my nose and voted for Romney in 2012 and McCain in 2008. I wish I could find some reason to believe that Trump is more conservative than Romney or McCain, but I cannot. Regardless, Trump is without question far preferable to the left-wing Democrat alternatives. I honestly do not know how our Republic can survive four more years of Democrat rule.
But a bunch of middle aged white guys are not going to be nearly enough to beat back the Democrats, especially when some of the middle aged white guys keep saying that they will never vote for Trump or that they will never vote for Cruz. The #NeverTrump and #OnlyTrump rhetoric is going to do us in.
Here on FR, we have a constant barrage of Trump supporters saying that they will never vote for Cruz and Cruz supporters saying that they will never vote for Trump. We are going to have to figure out some way to unite behind whoever wins the nomination, whether it is Trump or Cruz, or all we can look forward to is at least 4 years of President Hillary.
Simple enough just get the loser Cruz to drop out and and endorse Trump. Either that or explain how he is doing anything other than committing to the destruction of Trump and his followers, since he has zero chance of winning unless he can get t a brokered convention where he has even less chance of becoming the nominee.
