Ted Cruz said Thursday he will not apologize to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for accusing him of lying last year, despite suggestions from Senate colleagues it would help them unite behind his campaign.
"That ain't gonna happen," Cruz told CNN's Dana Bash in an interview that aired on "Erin Burnett OutFront." "And if the Washington lobbyists want to see that happen, they can hold their breath a long, long time. My focus is on the American people and uniting Republicans behind shared values and a shared vision." Cruz has presented himself as the candidate best poised to unite the Republican Party against Hillary Clinton in November. But he has struggled with his own colleagues in the Senate, winning limited support from Republican senators.

McConnell: You happily took money from my PAC. Apology accepted.
Diametrically opposite of Trumps perpetual vacillation.
He already did. He wouldnt have GOP backing if he didnt.
Mitch told Ted that there was no call list registry on the phone number Mitch gave to Ted. It wasn’t so much Mitch was a liar, it was that even Mitch was so lame to think there wasn’t a registry.
Right now, both of them have it under wraps, however. And they sure don’t want any Supreme Court justice that would do anything that might risk the call registry to get to the public. Anyway, even with that, you never know what McConnell might do before he dies, so Cruz has to make good with him also. They are now on the same team.
THIS is why a stand with Cruz. He is a man of character. He is the true anti-establishment candidate.
I saw that interview. It was very good.
He cant apologize. His tongue is so far inserted up McConells A$$ , speech is impossible.
“THIS is why a stand with Cruz. He is a man of character. He is the true anti-establishment candidate.”
LOL!
Keep the fantasy alive.
He should apologize to McConnell right after McConnell apologizes to the Republic voters for rolling over like a dog for Obama.
Will pompously refuse to apologize to McConnell who tacitly supports him with words and money, but chooses to hide behind iCarly’s skirts when asked about “ever cheating?”
Bingo!
Hate to disappoint you, but that was all Kabuki theater for the conservative base.
So is Cruz’s tough talk now.
Fabrications.
Cruz stated emphatically he has “never been unfaithful” and McConnell hates Cruz and has said so many times,
Candidates are prohibited by law from coordinating with PACS so that bullsh!t as well.
When one isn’t acquainted with facts or reality, they tend to post comments like yours.
... He already did. He wouldn’t have GOP backing if he didnt.
Not true. Have you not read the many stories that GOP senators would back Cruz if he apologized? Never fear though Trump will not be getting gop senator’s votes. Trump is the only one saying Cruz has gone establishment.
Such cynicism.
... I saw that interview. It was very good.
I saw it also and it was very good. I had seen Dana earlier in the day where she said the voters she spoke to at his rally yesterday ALL understood NY values and didn’t like them.
I guess you didn’t bother to read that Cruz said he would not apologize.
///THIS is why a stand with Cruz. He is a man of character. He is the true anti-establishment candidate.
He has character, long held principles and class. The character assassination perpetuated by Trump and his supporters has failed. No matter how many blogs are posted saying DC madam and NE and BC they do not change minds.
