Cruz to O’Reilly: You ‘Defend’ Trump ‘A Lot’
Breitbart ^ | 4/8/16 | Ian Hanchett

Posted on 04/08/2016 2:29:12 AM PDT by markomalley

Republican presidential candidate Texas Senator Sen. Ted Cruz told Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly that he defends GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump “a lot” on Thursday’s “O’Reilly Factor.”

After Cruz pointed to Trump’s donations to liberal politicians, O’Reilly objected that these donations weren’t made “as a politician.” O’Reilly then advised Cruz to have a press conference in Penn Station to see what has happened to it under Mayor Bill de Blasio (D).

Later on, Cruz argued there’s “liberal intolerance” in New York state, and stated that New York State Senator Rubén Díaz (D) told him that he knew exactly what Cruz’s reference to “New York values” meant, and that Díaz pointed to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s (D) statement that “extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay” “have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”

O’Reilly responded that “Trump doesn’t subscribe to any of that.” Cruz objected that Trump does because “he funded it.” O’Reilly again said that this was done “as a businessman.” And “You can have two lives.”

“You are asking me to defend Ted Cruz comments”

In fact, what you are saying is you made a decision regarding Trump, without actually knowing his positions on the 4 key issues. You have no way to posture on Ted Cruz’s positions without knowing his opponents position.
That is what elections are about.

You are a very dishonest man; well spoken, but dishonest. No amount of words, strung out to impress, can change that.

You may want to spend some time at www.donaldjtrump.com to be a valid voice.

Ted Cruz lies consistently on Donald Trump’s positions on:

You asked me to comment on what Ted Cruz allegedly said about Donald Trump's alleged positions. I foolishly tried to cooperate with you by responding in general terms to a very vague question.

I am not here to do your homework for you. If you have a particular quotation of Ted Cruz' and a particular policy statement of Donald Trump which you claim are anomalous, present them. But be aware that previous statements of Donald Trump might be used to justify the predictions made by Ted Cruz, if that is in fact what occurred.

Many Many more telling you their plan. Whatever deal Cruz made with the GOPe to stay in after losing the south and keep Trump from winning outright apparently did not include Cruz being the Nominee.

Why are you accusing Ted Cruz of selling out to the Republican establishment when he fought them tooth and nail for his entire Senate career while Donald Trump was financing them to scuttle Tea Party candidates?

Ted Cruz fought for you while Donald Trump financed your enemies.

If the establishment is maneuvering to nominate Paul Ryan, will you join with Ted Cruz to oppose any effort to repeal the rule of eight (rule forty B) to prevent just that?

If you were serious look up how the RNC has made clear NO rules apply from 2012 to the 2016 convention. So Rule 40 (b) does not exist yet for 2016 and may not exist. The New Rules committee makes up the rules.

Who approves any such rule changes?

Representative chosen by delegates who represent Trump and Cruz for the most part.

Bill corrects the record, he doesn’t “defend” Trump. Ted hates to be challenged on his lies.

No Cruz fought for his Wife’s Bank’s Globalist agenda. He like a Harvard lawyer created a ton of show stuff to look like he was conservative but has consistently sold you and me down the tube where it matters to the Global agenda.

As I have pointed out before. He helped Draft Bush’s NAFTA, He pushed TPP. he blocked our ability to stop currency manipulation, he tried to flood us with a 500 percent H1B visa increase and doubling of Syrian Muslims, etc.

America First is conservative. In the scheme of things pointed out above none of Cruz’s conservative optics can make up for selling Americans out like that.

Setting up for the One person who threatens the Globalist to lose and helping get either a Rino or Hilary is consistent with the Globalist agenda.

I’ve done my homework sir. That’s the difference between us. You seem to be a lazy intellectual who rambled himself into a box.

You really think all those delegates are for Cruz? Serious. The vast majority are like always party insiders who will claim to be for one or the other, But mostly the same people as before. Its a good gig. can be very profitable in a contested convention.

Treating Trump (reasonably) fairly is not the same as defending him.

I saw the interview. Strictly amateur hour for Ted. He’s like a parody of a 1980s Republican.

I did. There is a lot of propaganda for the Ryan nominating crowd that is making claims Cruz is locking down delegates. Then there are delegates who are surprised to hear they are supposed to be for Cruz. Why do you believe the stories of him locking down the unbound?

I’m naturally skeptical of political big mouths who do not have enough principle to refrain from donating to liberals and their causes.

All he has ever done in the senate is grandstand, I don’t believe he has ever accomplished much.

The only "accomplishment" that would be meaningful at this point is dismantling whole departments and repealing laws used to restrict freedom. Nobody's doing that!

I never said that I do believe the stories about Cruz locking down unbound delegates.

But there are multiple reports that Cruz has been able to convince uncommitted delegates to pledge their support to Cruz. There are multiple reports that Trump has been remiss in this essential part of getting the nomination.

That has nothing to do with my previous point, which is that Trump and Cruz could combine and ask their delegates to make sure the rules committee does not repeal the rule of eight. If the committee does repeal the rule of eight, these two candidates should use their influence to have it rejected when the new rule is presented to the delegates for approval.

My question to you is, what is your position as a Trump supporter on upholding the existing rule of eight?

of course there have been reports hes locking down the delegates, how else could he get people to support his helping the GOPe to get the nomination if they realized there is no way for Cruz to win?

At minimum it take only one (1) liberal federal Judge in October to knock him out. And the USSC is locked so that’s it.

Its a nice set up. One way or the other the Globalists get what they want (Establishment) and we lose. Cruz knows this...

Mr. Cruz should have voted no on cloture and the final passage for the precise reason that the bill is an affront to the constitution.

Yeah.

Then there would only have been 97 votes in favor of the bill.

That would have stopped it! /s
