Inside Donald Trump's delegate strategy
CNN ^ | April 7, 2016 | Sara Murray and Jeremy Diamond,

Donald Trump is tabling his go-everywhere approach and hunkering down in his home state ahead of the New York primary, as his campaign aims to take a more disciplined approach to the delegate hunt.

The Trump campaign is overhauling its schedule to go all in in the Empire State.

The change of plans came just as the campaign announced Thursday that Paul Manafort, a veteran GOP hand who recently joined the campaign, is being tasked with an expanded role to "direct the campaign's activities" as it looks to secure the necessary delegates to clinch the nomination.

New York will be the first testing ground for the campaign's new strategic bend.

There are 95 delegates at stake in the state's April 19 primary, where Trump has a wide lead. He picked up support from 52% of GOP primary voters in New York in a recent Monmouth University poll -- well ahead of John Kasich at 25% and Ted Cruz at 17%.

In building his empire, I’m sure he’s found many times people or odds were against him.

Life’s not fair and he knows that and adjusts.

I don’t want to hear from him how everyone’s against him. We know that already.

Just win!!

BTW, the responses online to his Bethpage appearance were mostly insults at Italians, and disgusting.

Dems go CRAZY if you say one racial slur, but BOY do they know all the Italian ones. Pieces of #####.

Cruz has a brilliant strategy of losing almost every county on the east coast to Trump 50(T)-25(K)-25(Cruz) give or take depending on county.

The changes seem to evoke optimism for his election and nostalgia for his supporters.

Gone are the days of friendly, inspiring, unstructured, politically incorrect rallies, meetings, appearances, hugs, “I love you’s”, warm smiles and a sense of belonging.

Trump supporters will surely miss these days but all good things come to an end.

He is still one of us, but it is understandable that he needs to bear down now on the final targets and not make any mistakes.

I will miss the Donald Trump that was with us, who we followed and learned with.

But now, even better, he’s going to be the nominee and then he’s going to defeat the democrats.

And the best, he will be sworn in as President of the United States in January 2017.

He needs to understand the rules, so he can play by the rules, to win.

I keep trying to remind people that tha GOPe made a deal with the Democrats to defeat Trump and ensure a Hillary presidency.

See:

I’ll believe that when Neil Bush joins his financial campaign team and he gets endorsements from Jeb! and the RNC isn’t blatantly trying to stop him. Nice try.

“Sarcasm, right?”

Does anyone really believe that someone can run for president with any expectation of winning whithout the backing of an established national political party?
