I was born in Brooklyn and lived in Brooklyn or Manhattan until I was 30. Now I live in the woods, near Canada, and I’m happy with life.
HOWEVER
Any New Yorker or ex-New Yorker knows EXACTLY what Cruz meant with his stupid “NY values” crack. You know the slogan “don’t mess with Texas”?
We New Yorkers are the same way. Never mind the limp-ass excuses that it was about politics. As we say down home, “I was born at night, but it wasn’t last night”.
Spend your money somewhere else, Mr. Cruz.

It was early in Afghanistan and Geraldo had just gone out there to get footage.
They wanted a hilltop that was visibly SHELLED, right..? With tattered TREES.
That’s actually REALLLY rare in Afghanistan, but the audience concept is there, and they feel they have to shoot to fit that narrative.
So some poor producer spends days or maybe WEEKS trying to find that PERFECT hilltop, and after some creative modification they FINALLY have it.
Geraldo gets up there in his flack-jacket, broadcasting and then HITS THE DIRTY cuz there’s a SCARRRRY INCOMINB MORTAR..!!!
And they show him diving, and the cameraman jerks the camera, and somehow they had a whooshing sound, and everything.
And it was a scandal cuz there had been NO mortar —it was just Geraldo manufacturing news. It was FAKE.
And until about a year ago, it would have been simple for me to link that silly photo in there, cuz the photo was out there. I know it cuz EVERY time Geraldo hit the news in some smaller scandal, I would tell the whole story —just like now— and show you guys the photo.
But they caught on, and spent some cash, and alas, I can find it NOWHERE.
But there’s the story, yup.
That could be only matched by a few FReepers.
Count me in that group.
I detest anyone who would chance an open convention floor fight, which is exactly what the GOPe has wanted all along.

Who cares what Peter King says? He’s one of the biggest RINOs in the Congress, and I’d have serious concerns about Cruz if King was on his side.

Agreed that Rivera is an embarrassment. But, reality is that like much programming on television, it’s not about informing, or having a sane, sensible William Buckley (Firing Line) discussion. It’s always about the ratings. Also, and more importantly with programming, It’s about the money. It’s always about the money.
Television knows that conflict and stupidity increases ratings, and hence the money.
