Students at the University of Michigan called police the other day because someone had written Donald Trumps name in chalk.
No arrests were made. The episode is part of a nationwide trend of Trump supporters writing pro-Trump messages on sidewalks, stairs, and other surfaces at college campuses, where fainting fits are sure to ensue.
they could get no relief from law enforcement, the University of Michigan students took it upon themselves to erase the offending messages including Trump 2016, Build the Wall and Stop Islam while fighting through feelings of betrayal.
One student complained that there should be a special emergency number to call in such cases one wonders how often students are really going to need recourse to an unwelcome-chalk-message hotline and said that the administrations inadequate response perpetuates these really racist and hateful stereotypes that turn into violence and turn into students of color feeling unsafe on campus.
Rarely before have a few scribblings been so traumatizing and written not even in ink or paint or some other difficult-to-remove substance, but in the same chalk used to mark out hopscotch courts and write temporary promotional messages about sorority mixers and student theatrical productions. That chalk messages can be considered tantamount to a physical threat captures the crisis of free speech on campus perfectly.
What has become known on social media as the chalkening demonstrates how some college kids cant be exposed to the simplest expression of support for a major presidential candidate without wanting to scurry to the nearest safe space. By this standard, a Make America Great Again hat is a hate crime waiting to happen. Its not clear how any of these students can turn on cable TV or look at the polls for the Republican nomination these days without being triggered.

I saw this in my company over 20 years ago. They’d woo the tech talent in with beach-themed job fairs, etc. and then some of those hires would be crying about tough managers.
But it’s gotten worse since then.
I’m from the old school. I actually liked those managers. They were tough. And fair.
This happened at the Univ of Arkansas Ft Smith and the Univ President told the students if they were afraid to pray for rain. :-)
I only wish it weren’t. Just when I think liberals couldn’t be more pathetic, they find a way.
It’s beyond shocking to surreal.
Not home to mommy and daddy, but a quick tour in Afghanistan or syria might help.
The real problem is these people have ZERO concept of the need for self-survival skills. I’m not talking about being able to fight their way out of a hand-to-hand combat situation. We’ve had times when the power was out for more than half an hour, and they are completely helpless. They honestly have NO idea how to fend for themselves, and worse, no problem-solving/trouble-shooting/creative-thinking skills to get around even a simple barrier like no electricity. So, instantaneously, they are lost souls looking for somebody to take care of them. It’s more than a little pathetic when the power has only been out about an hour, and already people are panicking because the microwave won’t work, and they have no ability to problem-solve fixing a meal. Heaven forbid they “just make do.” And that’s with them knowing it’s temporary, and the power will come back on. I’m with you, I weep to think of what we’d be up against in a real crisis, having to rely on these snowflakes. They are instantaneous victims.
"Nipped" is still OK, but we don't know for how long. However, don't say "chink in the armor."
If Trump gets in, I hope for a concerted effort to ban PC.
People like this deserve ridicule and mocking and derision.
Anyone saying “rain forest” instead of “jungle” needs to be treated like someone using a non-PC term is today.
I know, I know... it’s essentially reverse-PC, but they deserve it.
Superb. That speaks volumes.
:)
YAYAYAYAY! NO MORE HARKIN!! Always hated that jerk.
