Lord of the Flies: Internal Meltdown at Fox News over Trump
Breitbart ^ | APRIL 6,2016 | Rebecca Mansour

Posted on 04/06/2016 5:49:59 PM PDT by Hojczyk

The Fields incident in particular has exposed some of the tensions at Fox, with the anti-Trump faction led by Kelly (who last January dedicated an entire show to National Review’s “Against Trump” issue) featuring sympathetic coverage of Fields’ battery allegation, while the more pro-Trump factions like Hannity and Van Susteren have expressed skepticism.

On his radio show, Hannity said the battery charges were “insane” and that people’s perceptions of the Fields-Lewandowski incident “are based on who they support for the nomination.”

Nicknaming the incident “grab-gate,” Van Susteren took issue with the fact that it was being classified as a “crime.” On her show last week, she said: “Now, whatever happened in the scrum, and I don’t think the video or eyewitness statement is convincing, this incident never should have ended up as a crime. It should have ended with an apology.”

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace also weighed in on the issue. In an interview with the GOP frontrunner last week, Wallace agreed with Trump’s assertion that Fields exaggerated the incident. “I think she completely misrepresented it early on. I do,” Wallace said.

On The Five, co-host Dana Perino, who along with Gutfeld form the show’s anti-Trump faction, seemed to have a tense exchange with their pro-Trump co-host Eric Bolling when Gutfeld make a joke about Lewandowski grabbing someone and Bolling rejoined with, “did she fall down?” in reference to what he perceived as Fields’ exaggerated claim. Perino tersely replied, “She never said she almost fell.”

Perino might have had a similarly tense exchange behind-the-scenes with Hannity. Oliver Darcy from TheBlaze tweeted: “Hannity says on-air that @DanaPerino ‘erased’ the Twitter app from his phone: ‘She’s mad because — I unload.'” Perino replied: “As a friend said, it was a 21st century intervention. He won’t miss it!”

Hannity also would not back Fields. So she attacked him.

Wonder what assault she will set him up for.

"It should have ended with an apology."

I agree. Fields should have apologized.

Are you talking about Kelly? It is an odd picture.

“Roger had lawyers, very expensive lawyers, and they couldn’t do anything. I solved the problem.” Fox paid Lewis millions to go away quietly, and Trump, I’m told, learned everything Lewis had planned to leak. If Ailes ever truly went to war against Trump, Trump would have the arsenal to launch a retaliatory strike.

LOL, Trump is good, very good.

Dana’s only half as bad as Kelly. Plus she’s prettier and doesn’t have a Trump butch haircut.

FNC has to unload PeRino, Kelly, Gutfeld, Krauthammer, Will, Shemp, and Rove before I would consider them even remotely conservative. Those listed above are killing Fox News.

I wish Dana Perino would just stay home, play with Jasper, and look adoringly all day at the portraits of the Bushes.

What a lightweight.

And yes, Dana, Fields did allege that she almost fell down, which she clearly did not from the video.

Gutfeld is worse than worthless.

He detracts from every exchange with his childish antics and “jokes” that only he understands.

Was Fields a Cruz toadie or a Clinton/Soetoro toadie? It has become tougher to tell the difference.

... Hannity also would not back Fields. So she attacked him.

No and no. At the very least Hannity could have condemned Trump’s irrational multiple changes of his story from the SS “saw nothing” through the SS said she was carrying a weapon”.

A person in power should never intimidate a reporter as he did. Trump has shown without a doubt he would wield power using every available government agency on his enemies who are all who do not bow down to him.

Again DT has shown no ability to be inclusive. He has his core supporters and no ability to grow a base - he has alienated those he needs to win 1237.

Hannity, Bolling and Greta have grown spots that will mark the rest of their careers.

Fields has a track record of false accusations ..she’s a pro ..and good for Hannity for not caving in to the pressure to lie ..Levin tripled down on backing her false accusation ...she has also even accused the Honorable Allen West of groping her ...Fields should be in jail for this kind of behavior

Hannity and Greta are Trump bootlickers. They are both a complete turn off. Maybe the Scientology faith of Greta is getting to her. Hannity is incapable of a single original or coherent thought. They are both sliding into the “Geraldo” category.

And yes, Dana, Fields did allege that she almost fell down

Correct.

For those who have been visiting Cuba the last few weeks, here is Michelle Fields' actual statement to that effect:

"Trump acknowledged the question, but before he could answer I was jolted backwards. Someone had grabbed me tightly by the arm and yanked me down. I almost fell to the ground, but was able to maintain my balance. Nonetheless, I was shaken."

"Campaign managers aren’t supposed to try to forcefully throw reporters to the ground, no matter the circumstance."

Are you talking about Kelly? It is an odd picture.

I made a joke on here about the United States of MeGyn which no one got.The United States of Tara is a TV show about a woman with Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder). This latest one was brought on by stress over her tangling with Trump.

Watch her break into uncontrolled giggling at times. The big hair change is another sign.

I hope she's only neurotic and not flat out dissociative.
