Rudyard Kipling wrote a prescient poem in 1919, called "Gods of the Copybook Headings.". This is, simply put, a must-read poem.
Copybooks were texts that allowed British schoolchildren of the time to practice penmanship, and the phrase they would copy -- often a phrase of a sermon, or some wise aphorism -- would be featured on the copybook heading. Kipling was appalled by the counterintuitive modern thoughts of the day, and wrote the poem to point out how eons of wisdom and experience of humankind were hard-won, and he urged us not to embrace the depraved 'shortcuts' we began to take.
Like Kipling -- though lacking his talent -- I, too, urge us to take stock of where we are. Are we in open rebellion with morality and common-sense? Are we in a pitched war with reality? Have we become a Demonic America?
Take yourself back ten years, and (except for the last item, which is older) ask if you would have physically struck a future-you that claimed that any of the above would come to pass.
I know I would.
There can be no doubt. We are in the clutches of great evil. Common sense has been thrown aside for bizarre and absurd conclusions that fly in the face of 2000 years of civilization, and the ideals of decency that surrounded us.
I have not even discussed other forms of evil, such as the Administration's betrayals of Israel -- including an implied threat to shoot down Israeli aircraft that would have struck Iran's nuclear facilities. There are so many other examples, too numerous to list. It all comes together to inform us that this is Satan's time, a time of unbridled evil.
Back in the 1970's and 1980's, I used to listen Iran call us the 'Great Satan' with a combination of derision and bemusement.
Now, I actually wonder... is that what we have become?
The only ones making it that way are the Demonicrats leading the Demonicrat Party!!!
Sounds like an essay in the making. Pick three qualities of Frankin, and explain how they apply to you, using specific details.
Also, try 1 Corinthians 6!!!
And don’t overlook 1 Corinthians 5 either...
When I heard the US was called the Great Satan, I wasn’t surprised. I wasn’t offended. I heard Satan saying he had infiltrated the land, covered the streets with the blood of the innocent, stoked the wrath of God with all He hates and all He has said are abominations.
Overcome is the word of Revelation for believers. I say Gear up!

Hold on to your britches, Laz. April 15 through May 1 is the satanic season.
“Have we become a demonic nation?”
Yes.
The Bible says that all the nations are currently under the power of the evil one who is the devil, Satan. He has a demonic force with him. They all rebelled against their Creator the triune God, and they all hate mankind.
But they will not prevail. The Son of God is returning to planet earth to establish justice and righteousness and reign over the earth from Zion (Jerusalem), just as prophesied and to the glory of God. The final events are described in Revelation 19 and 20.
In the meantime, until the Coming of the Messiah Jesus, the nations are in an uproar. Psalm 2 describes it well:
Why are the nations in an uproar, and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand, and the rulers take counsel together against the LORD and against His Anointed: “Let us tear their fetters apart, and cast away their cords from us!”
He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord scoffs at them.
Then He will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury: “But as for Me, I have installed My King upon Zion, My holy mountain.”
“I will surely tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to Me, ‘Thou art My Son, today I have begotten Thee. Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Thine inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron, Thou shalt shatter them like earthenware.’”
Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; take warning, O judges of the earth. Worship the LORD with reverence, and rejoice with trembling. Do homage to the Son, lest He become angry, and you perish in the way, for His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!
Jesus came and died for the sins of the world—for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
The apostle Peter said that God ordered the apostles and disciples to preach to the people (the Jews first) and solemnly testify that Jesus is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead. “Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgivenes of sins.” (Acts 10:43) God grants repentance that leads to life.
Jesus has been raised from the dead, He is victorious over sin and death and the devil, and after He was raised from the dead and ascended in glory to the Father, He sent His Spirit to indwell every single believer.
Paul’s words in Ephesians 1:13-14: “In Him (Christ), you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession (the believer), to the praise of His glory.”
Finally, all true believers in Christ, all “born again by the Spirit” people of the nations on this earth, all those who belong to Christ Jesus—have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires and walk by the Spirit. That is, though they are not perfect in the sense that they never sin, they are declared righteous by God (justified through faith) and they practice righteousness by the bearing of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The Spirit is conforming them to Christ-likeness until the day of the redemption of their bodies.
Those of the nations of this earth who reject the Son are led by the desires of their flesh and their father, the devil. They do the deeds of their flesh as a practice of life. The Bible says the deeds of the flesh are evident and are:
immorality,
impurity,
sensuality,
idolatry,
sorcery,
enmities,
strife,
jealousy,
outbursts of anger,
disputes,
dissensions,
factions,
envying,
drunkenness,
carousing,
and things like this, of which I (Paul) forwarn that those
who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)
Is it no wonder why we as a nation are under God’s judgment now and why ALL the nations will be judged when He returns.
This judgment is of people—individuals—of all the nations.
In closing, God said to His people Israel through the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 52:13-15):
Behold, My servant will prosper, He will be high and lifted up, and greatly exalted. Just as many were astonished at you, My people, so His appearance was marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men. Thus He will sprinkle many nations, kings will shut their mouths on account of Him; for what had not been told them they will see, and what they had not heard they will understand.
I love me some Jesus.
Writers shmiters, you still have the cutest children on the Internet, all of them!
“You have got” ??? Holy cow. Everything else is impressive.
“are selling” in the original piece should simply be “sell”
The Book of Job.
Okay, I’ll bite.
Definitively stated with immediacy.
Details?
On the other hand, mayhaps we should get laid.
No details. Hyperbole.
Sorry.
I infuse my serious with strains of silly.
It’s who I am.
Conscience - just about gone. Old fashioned.
Family - redefined, meaning corrupted. Original meaning now considered “heteronormative”, oppressive.
Civil Authority - corrupted, enforces political correctness, etc.
Holy Spirit - the only one of the four keeping the whole mess from blowing up.
Otherwise the rest of this nation is following Aleistar Crowley. “Do as thou whilst”. Now did I just see a chunk of burning sulfur fly over?
First, I love that poem by Kipling. Love most all of his work
Second we have devolved into evil as a nation that said I would not call us the Great Satan. The evil that is to come across the entire world may be dis heartening. One can counter with an active prayer life
I'm not so sure. Human lifespans are barely sufficient to get through the phone menu now.
