Directly and through surrogates, the Texas senator is aggressively reaching out to his Senate colleagues as he prepares for the possibility of a convention floor fight against Donald Trump. And Cruz’s emissaries on Capitol Hill are now signaling to senior Republicans that Cruz would be willing to work with them as the GOP nominee in a way Trump would not.
So far, Cruz can tout only two Senate endorsements, from conservative Mike Lee and the deal-making centrist Lindsey Graham. But Senate Republicans are now at least listening to an intensified pitch from Cruz and his allies: That he’s a far more stable choice for the top of the ticket and for the GOP's hopes of keeping the Senate.

I feel that he had all this panned and that is why he renounced is Canadian citizenship.
People wanted ot see someone stand up to the party and cruz did this, but never actually accomplished anything , hell he did not bother to finish his first term as he is so hungry.

It was then he switched and got cozy with the establishment as he saw that was his only help.

What the media has done is to d what they did to Romney and McCain. They are doing the same to cruz.
If cruz is successful; then then the media will go full attack on him and to be on here seeing those same people acting all surprised will be amazing to see.

At first, I was thinking, Trump or Cruz...I liked them both...But as time has gone by and the snuggling up to the “establishment elite” that crux has done the past while has shown me exactly what kind of person Cruz really is...
If he had been honest and stuck to the convictions he first displayed, he could still hold his head up high, but for what he has become, he is nothing more than a puppet for UNIPARTY elites that sit back in Washington and laugh at common, everyday Americans...
In my opinion, Cruz has become worthless to the REAL American people...
I approve. Cruz is overwhelmingly likely to be himself, in the unlikely event that he becomes President, and not to be a tool of the establishment. Cozying up to the establishment to get them to support his agenda is a good thing.
Repeal Obamacare, deport illegals, defund Planned Parenthood, and shrink FedGov - those are positive goals - and that is what he promises to do.
Forced by the establishment. Laugh and make fun if you want to but the “power” can destroy anyone they choose. They’re now two for two in making billionaires look like idiots. Dan Patrick was a Dewhurst supporters. But when Cruz won and immediately started running for senate Patrick became a Cruz supporter. Not to mention Patrick turned as soon as he got the Tea Party to elect him governor.

Cruz “looked good” as long as he needed to look good. Then he and his gopE backers realized they’d never win the Trump supporters over so they allowed him to show his true colors so he could get the establishment votes PLUS keep his blind followers’ votes.

The guy's been a con artist from the git go.
The Cruz supporters remind me of the way I felt in 2008 and 2012. I hated Obama so badly that I conned myself into getting excited about McCain and Romney. I, and all the rest of us who voted for them, were played for fools.
And that same power elite is doing it again. This time with an inside puppet running as a conservative. The gopE leaders aren’t dumb. They figured out how to beat the tea party by running fake conservatives or loading up the primaries so as to help the incumbents. Such as they did with Graham.
This time they decided to bring a guy in who’s been a part of them all along and guess what. Enough people fell for it so it’s probably going to succeed.
Trump came along and almost screwed it up for them. But they have the media on their side so nobody will beat them with votes. The only way they can be beaten is by NOT voting.
