On Saturday, over at The Gateway Pundit, Joe Hoft put together a delegate math piece purporting to show that Cruz will be out of the running for 1237 delegates by the end of April. Hoft got that right, but his math used to get there is significantly off. What Hoft also fails to mention is that Trump will be effectively unable to reach 1237 delegates at the end of May.
Using Hofts report, the Trump campaign began to echo the elimination narrative. It also realized Trumps own path to 1237 has significantly narrowed. When Trump fails to get to 1237, Cruz has already proven he has a superior second ballot strategy.
That is a good question.
I think that Kasich is delusional.
He won his home state and that energized him. But I have a lot of Facebook friends there and apparently there was a big organization voting for Kasich to deny the Trump win.
That may have backfired. Apparently it doesn’t take much for Kasich to think he is beloved.
I can’t imagine either Cruz or Trump making any kind of deal with him. They both want him out. He has no chance... so, why, Kasich why?
Even leading by 8 is not what Trump expected there.
And that primary is down the line. It will depend on what happens to Trump’s popularity between now and then.
You're probably right. But it's still a lead.
And that primary is down the line. It will depend on what happens to Trumps popularity between now and then.
Exactly. A poll that far out is essentially meaningless.
You’ve inspired me to update my tagline.
32% in a terrible state for Trump is pretty good.
I was concern trolling myself he was going to do as bad as with the kooky UTah GOP.
Toward the end Trump eased up on Rubio a bit, even paid him a compliment. Marco's still got 300+/- delegates so, if it comes to that, Trump could conceivably offer him a deal. Personally, I wouldn't like it, but I could live with it.
I’m in agreement with Newt its either going to be Trump or Cruz. If neither one Gets 1237 delegates they walk into the convention with about 80% of the delegates between them. If push comes to shove the two of them will bury the hatchet and form a coalition. These guys are too smart and have worked too hard to let the RNC sneak Ryan or Romney in the back door. Never gonna happen.
“The corrupt status quo will remain in Washington. Crony capitolism will still be alive and well. Illegals will continue to flow across the border. We had a chance and did not take it. The illegals will be able to vote and the country will never be the same again.”

You have not listened to Ted Cruz...listen and you will then be supportive!
Nope. Because I will get behind either one of them. If it comes to a floor fight, it needs to be as open and public as possible to insure that everyone who voted see the process unfold either way.
When you throw away your vote, you are voting for Hillary.
“I will not hold my nose and vote for any brokered candidate.”
Suppose Trump comes up short on the first ballot. Then he bargains with other candidate’s delegates and they vote for him on the second ballot. He wins. Is he a brokered candidate?
Now, suppose Cruz comes up short on the first ballot. Then he bargains with other candidate’s delegates and they vote for him on the second ballot. He wins. Is he a brokered candidate?
What is the difference?
Which one would you refuse to vote for?
That’s the plan.
No. The trumpers do not argue or debate or make points.
They rely on inconsequential stuff about Ted Cruz.
They insult posters who don’t agree. They insult sources that don’t love Trump.
I can’t even remember a really good post from a trumper.
How about you try one?
You haven’t posted that enough. Ten more times should do it.
If this gets to the convention the backroom deals will likely have already been cut in the six weeks or so between the last primary and the start of the convention. Donald Trump nor Ted Cruz is dumb enough to want a floor fight.
I said two months ago that Trump would pick Rubio.
I can’t remember why I thought that so strongly but I did.
Not sure how it would benefit him.
True.
You are forgetting he will undoubtedly win NJ (winner take all), most likely PA, CT, and DE. You are way off
After all the “incoming” Trump has had to fight through, you think the GOPe will nominate Trump?
He is not a globalist. Cruz is.
If it was Jeb in the position Trump was in, you really think they would not have told Kasuck to walk? Cruz to walk?
No. This election is about allegiance to the United States. Anyone, even Hillary is the GOPe status quo.
