Damn. I fought it for as long as I could. But this is SOOOOO the right thing to do. Pay off the debt and make government smaller. Let the people control the resources. Ok. I' ll vote for Trump. Can I get a button that says "Footdraggers for Trump?"

Don’t sell an acre of land until the annual federal budget is balanced, or huge progress has been made toward that. When you can’t meet current obligation and you start selling off assets, that is known as liquidation.

And I think it would be a good idea to send China a bill for a trillion or two for copyright violations, patent violations, product counterfeiting, violation of trade agreements, etc.

Politicians will just see this as another opportunity to spend without limits.

QUESTION 1: How much land is owned and controlled by Washington?

ANSWER: See the map below.

QUESTION 2: WHY??

ANSWER: Anyone...anybody...HELLLOOOO!  (crickets)

LAND MAP photo Map_of_all_U.S._Federal_Land_zpssifsqc78.jpg

FACT THAT SHOULD CONCERN US ALL: The federal government owns or controls more land in the nation that there is east of the Mississippi. That's a great way to, if not totally destroy the states, erase their borders and the STATE sovereignty the Founders attempted to preserve.

What does the Constitution authorize?

Article 1, section 8 Clause 17: "The congress shall have power...to exercise like authority over all places purchased by the consent of the legislature of the state in which the same shall be, for the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dock-yards, and other needful buildings;"

Notice that all the structures mentioned are defensive in nature. Have recent federal governments been defending the country -- REALLY defending this place??

That clause has been twisted by decades of liberal congresses and allowed by a quiescent government school indoctrinated public just like they've twisted and we have also allowed, for example, the welfare, interstate commerce and other clauses to sweep into federal control just about every human activity in this formerly free nation.

Several really smart freedom lovers saw this coming 2 centuries ago! "...the natural tendency of things is for government to gain Ground and for liberty to yield...let no more be heard of Confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the constitution." Thomas Jefferson

"(centralized government) will destroy the state government, and swallow the liberties of the people." Patrick Henry

May I be so bold as to suggest that millions do something that would scare the hell out of these ignorant, power-grabbing politicians and petty bureaucrats? That would be to READ and UNDERSTAND the approximately 4,400 words in OUR national charter, the Constitution? It's available FOR FREE ON-LINE EVERYWHERE!

You'd need to explain it to them as most of them NEVER HAVE!!

Oh yeah -- one more thing: While I still support Trump because he's probably the only guy with the cajones to muck that fetid stable on the Potomac, he REALLY NEEDS TO BETTER EXPLAIN HIS SEEMINGLY UNQUALIFIED SUPPORT FOR "EMINENT DOMAIN" which is more and more being applied in an UNJUSTIFIABLE MANNER to enrich connected developers and entities.

He can sell the Postal Service to the Russians then. It wouldn’t be any more corrupt or incompetent than it is now.

NO selling to foreign governments, and buyers of these assets can NOT sell to foreign entities.

It is the *details* that matter.

When people hear this they think Grand Canyon, etc. and freak. The reality is the government owns so much ordinary land it is unreal, they have many properties that are land and buildings just sitting. One of our TV reporters did a special on government land in NM that was just properties with land, office or warehouse type buildings. The kicker is several were built and never used, just sitting. When people would attempt to buy them it was just too complicated to even figure out who to talk to.

I think it is a great idea as long as spending is curtailed so we don’t keep getting in this fix.

According to this guy, it is too late. Our debt is so great, even selling all the Federal lands can't pay it off.

Is this the same Trump who, three or four weeks ago, was attacking Cruz’s proposal for privatization of some federal lands in the west? Back then he was going to protect our magnificent federal lands. Now he’s going to sell $19 trillion worth? I know, I know ... the shelf life of a Trump position is measured in hours.

Federal lands in Nevada ALONE are likely worth $10 trillion.

Simply ad a rider to the deals that require a purchase by US Citizens, inclusive of all water and mineral rights, rights of way etc.

That desert would be a garden in 10 years.

Those who hold grazing rights now would get the first right of refusal at the auction. Sell it a section at a time.

Compared to what?

As president, Donald Trump would sell off $16 trillion worth of U.S. government assets in order to fulfill his pledge to eliminate the national debt in eight years, senior adviser with the campaign Barry Bennett said.

I am SOOO glad to see candidate trump finally join in with what Senator Cruz has proposed and fought for in Congress so many years ago. See the following link to just one of many articles about Senator Cruz having to fight both parties in Congress for this almost exact proposal Donald trump has floated finally today.

I like it, we spoke about this years ago..I think we keep the military bases and parks..sell off washington dc buildings as we empty them..

then pass laws that federal gangsta cannot raise funds at all. and monies will be donated by states and all states must have a balanced budget..in this way the states would truly have control, and the congress would have their power restored by the states..

Thats how it was...

Linkage of the campaign for privatization when combined with an assault on the environmental movement would be instrumental in reestablishing capitalism in the minds of the masses and the system of progress and improvement advocated by men of reason.
