Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said he is "95 percent" sure he would pick a veteran politician for vice president if elected.
He said he would choose somebody that can walk into the Senate and whos been friendly with these guys for 25 years, and people for 25 years and can get things done" in an extensive interview with The Washington Post published Saturday.
So I would 95 percent see myself picking a political person, as opposed to somebody from the outside," he said.
Darrell Issa is one of my favorites for Trump’s VP. Another man who can’t be bought. Made his money the old fashion way in business before he got into politics, so he has successful executive and legislative experience.
you have not been paying attention then to how angry the People are and what they are angry at.
‘He doesn’t care who is doing the best job ...’
You really don’t understand Trump, do you?
He already said, 25 year record working w. senate.
You can take him at his word.
“he made a deal for presidency with the RNC at their closed-door meeting and it does not include Cruz.”
Good!
>>choose a retired Armed Forces command / combat officer
IF anything happens to him , we ( the nation) will need a military experienced leadership , not political leadership .
former LTG Michael Flynn would fit the bill
YES, good suggestion!!
So, your suspicion is that Trump is trying to use the presidency as some sort of great-rich quick scheme? He’s going to sell the office of the vice presidency to some rich politician? You really think Trump is that desperate to earn some bucks?
Tom Delay for Attorney General. Then set him lose upon the Democrats.
Newts a great theorist. He talks to much and expresses his opinions too much. It may just end up being Jeff Sessions, but Trump had put out through others that he isn’t going to choose a Senator.
Maybe John Bolton? He’s certainly well known in both chambers of the house, and will carry significant foreign policy gravitas. That would be a thinking out of the box pick.
Bernie Sanders would be a comical pick and the greatest election evah will get even better.
Seriously? LOL he is going to be the outsider and he will pick an insider as his VP. Maybe someone he paid off?
I love Sessions but am hoping for a young, energetic, correctly committed guy who will carry the torch for 8 more.
I don’t think Trump’s talks with the RNC went very well.
He’s not giving in enough to corruption.
Thank you for referencing that article COUNTrecount. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.
Regarding Trump wanting an experienced VP, experienced at what? Knowing how the corrupt Washington cartel works?
People there for 25 years are backstabbing SOBs. They had 25 years to lower taxes and do many other things to improve the country but did not. You bring someone like that in and the Trump presidency will be like all the other bad presidency’s in recent memory.
Cruooz can’t tie his own shoe laces.
“””Lindsey Graham ? “”””
Only if he wanted to corner the queer vote.
I agree, Sessions.
If it's Kasich, it would be a disaster.
Trump should pick a youngster. Don’t make the mistake that Schrub made - Cheney was too old as a VP and so no one was groomed as president-to-be. This circumstance helped elect Bath House.
Newt is too old. And don’t let the GOPe force a VP like they forced Poppy Bush on Reagan.
How about Sasse?
‘... young, energetic, correctly committed guy who will carry the torch for 8 more ...’
Or a lot longer. Might not win the White House again for a number of terms. Always possible.
Nope, Trump wants every person to be a cog for the machine. Even the VP. Something to be said for that too.
People are different.
FRegards ....
