As Capitol Hill aides have explained, amongst Washingtons GOP political class Ryan is regarded as the Republican Jesus.
Indeed, National Review, which helped put the third world migration enthusiast Paul Ryan into the Speakers office, seemed to embrace the idea of nudging him into the Oval Office. National Reviews deputy managing editor penned a piece entitled,
Paul Ryan for President! writing: One can imagine a case where Trump and Cruz control 60 to 70 percent of the vote between them, and neither one will budge, and no other candidate or boss will consider helping either one. Then it will be time for a respected and inoffensive candidate to offer a contrast to all the strong personalities in the Republican race, and Ryan is nothing if not Mr. Acceptable.
Speaker Paul Ryan is emerging as the Republicans biggest counterweight to Donald Trump, The Hill wrote in January.
Since Trumps philosophy is so opposite of Ryans, if Trump were to win Wisconsin, it would be seen as a wholesale rejection of Ryan Republicanism. Losing Wisconsin would be politically devastating for Ryan and would make it exceedingly difficult for him to emerge out of the contested convention. As such, Wisconsin is a must-win for Ryan via a proxy of his policy viewpoints, Ted Cruz.
Paul Ryan and corporate media have sought to frame the GOP Civil War of voters versus donors and donor proxies (i.e. Fox News, Republican publications, and various corporate-owned radio networks) as a battle waged over something as frivolous as candidates tone rather than the substantive policy divisions between the electorate and the Partys corporate funders.

the GOP Civil War of voters versus donors and donor proxies
******************************
It’s currently a political civil war between the citizens and The Cheap Labor Express and their stooges that may turn into a real one if they continue to thwart us politically.
The citzens want to retain the rule of law and their country.
Okay, Trump/Ryan 2016 will be satisfactory.
The truth is a lot of Cruzbots are Bushbots hiding behind Cruz.
They are much more anti-Trump than the are Pro-Cruz.
If 60 or 70% of the delegates are the type of people who are loyal to Cruz or Trump,
then even after the first round, there is no way that these same people are ever going
to vote for Ryan.

Depending upon what the Convention Rules group recommends regarding Convention Rules for 2016,
specifically Rule 40 in the 2012 rules, will determine whether anyone other than
Cruz/Trump can be considered.
This rules group of 112 delegates will meet one week prior to the 2016 convention and formulate the
rules for the convention which must be adopted by the convention after convening. Those rules
will then govern the convention.
They died a long time ago. Whether people admit it or not, both Trump and Sanders are popular, in-part, because both represent a quasi new party within the facade of a supposed two party system. Within the current structure, if either candidate believed he could win as 3rd party, he’d be doing it now.
Rules committee meets before the convention convenes.
Ryan is the “chair” of the general convention assembly and controls the mic and who speaks.
Certain states have rules about who can become a delegate that don’t bode well for newcomers.
Beginning to sound like less a slam-dunk than you have outlined, ol’ chum?
I believe you have revealed the proper nature of the current situation. The Republican Establishment does feel entitled to their thrones in Washington D.C..
The reality is that the American Royalty do not care who is “King” as long as they keep their places at court. I also believe in part that these people are afraid of having their nefarious activities exposed for us serfs to see. They are truly afraid of pitchforks and torches coming for them in the night.
I have mine sharpened and ready to light.
Off with their heads!
All citizens who paid into the Social Security Trust Fund (that Congress has raided and spent every dime of) - would be disavowed of their last lame belief that they are owed something back. Social Security in Ryan's world will be a welfare system for the same people who receive all the other goodies: primarily democrat base voters.
Trade ‘deals’ will be negotiated by Congress - by elite congressmen who make ‘speeches’ and sell their autobiographies to lobbyists for TOP DOLLAR. (oh, and eff the working class)
Borders will NEVER be secured as long as the CHEAP LABOR EXPRESS is willing to BUY the ‘speeches’ of Congressmen.
And last but not least, Paul Ryan is pushing a bill that mandates ‘speeches’ to lobbyist to be at least one minute long - - in case the public starts seeing ‘speeches’ as bribes...
Run on YOUR truth Paul Ryan...
Great point.
Paul Ryan had his opportunity to get into the primary contests and prove his value within the party as a vote-getter, and he did not take up the challenge. Too late now to be making a serious bid.
Paul Ryan, with his choir-boy good looks, stands to be around a number of years yet, and it is highly unlikely that he would be “primaried out” by a more conservative Republican in his district. He COULD be challenged by a Democrat, but it would have to be a pretty moderate variety, as the First District in Wisconsin (Kenosha and Janesville, both gritty industrial cities), is not nearly as rabid as the Second District (Madison and environs).
But you are right, that Paul Ryan would only be put up as “designated loser” in this election.
Will the delegates on the rules committee be 60 or 70% Trump or Cruz loyalists?
Even if they are not, if all the delegates are 60 or 70% anti GOPe loyalists, then there is no way that Ryan will win the nomination.
They may as well run Dede Scozzafava.
I think people are underrating Cruz's odds, and overrating Kasich/Ryan/other, conditional on there being a contested convention.
RETWEETS 351 LIKES 610
And it is my personal goal (if I am lucky enough to live that long)to see that gutless, unprincipled environment in which he thrives come to an end - comletely.
“Breaking News is weird today.”
It’s Breitbart-less Breitbart.
Ryan is about all they have left to pull out as the designated McCain/Romney candidate this year. It’s been obvious for the past few weeks as he’s been making the speeches at CPAC, AIPAC, etc. GOPe is just fine with Hillary as next POTUS as NWO has designated her next in line to the throne. I’m sure the establishment is not happy either with the Bernie voters who have come out of the woodwork this cycle.
Even Newt himself said Trump has not been initiated into their secret club. They will fight tooth and nail to the end to keep him out. It’s time for us all to back Trump if there is any chance of keeping our country. He has to obliterate that 1237 number or my guess we’re looking at Ryan vs Hillary in the GE.
These people are on crack.
If Trump doesn't get to 1237, we need to begin asking if there is a Trump substitute that would be acceptable to us.
Cruz? No!
Ryan? No!
Sessions? Yes. That would work.
My mind isn't working. Any others?
That's all I had to read to get sick to my stomach. To think that in an election cycle where the rank and file clearly rejected the establishment candidates, where the Trump/Cruz duo are likely to combine for over 80 per cent of the earned delegates in the primary/caucus season, that we may end up with somebody even more lightweight than Mitt Romney or John McCain.
This cannot be allowed to happen.
Today’s Progressivism as practiced by the party establishments in the Republican and Democrat parties is not the communism of the Soviet Union or Cuba. It is not the socialism of various European or South American nations. It isn’t the communism of Mao.
It is a uniquely “American” form that pretends to pursue a free market and opportunity for all.
But, in the end, human nature will cause it to fail as the foot soldiers (the Millennials, blacks, and women) will discover that it is easier to stand in line for “stuff” than it is to work for it.
In all the 20th century communist states, the living standard of the people prior to communism was poor by our standards, so the allure of communism lasted for a generation. Ryan’s brand of “Republicanism” will crash and burn on the wall of human nature, just as every other form of collectivism has done in the last 100 years.
And it will crash on Day One! It could be propped up by a series of “Five Year Plans” that will create inefficient Soviet-style “tractor factories” to give all the people work, but we have millions who have never held a meaningful job in their entire life. They will develop back problems, tinnitus, or even PTSD shortly after being forced to work.
And then the guards arrive and the guns come out to force them back to work.
America dies because we counted the votes of useless eaters who have never contributed a single calorie of effort towards anything productive and because we listened to the beautiful people on TV and because we trusted those who have never left academia to test their theories using their own sweat.
