As Capitol Hill aides have explained, amongst Washingtons GOP political class Ryan is regarded as the Republican Jesus.
Indeed, National Review, which helped put the third world migration enthusiast Paul Ryan into the Speakers office, seemed to embrace the idea of nudging him into the Oval Office. National Reviews deputy managing editor penned a piece entitled,
Paul Ryan for President! writing: One can imagine a case where Trump and Cruz control 60 to 70 percent of the vote between them, and neither one will budge, and no other candidate or boss will consider helping either one. Then it will be time for a respected and inoffensive candidate to offer a contrast to all the strong personalities in the Republican race, and Ryan is nothing if not Mr. Acceptable.
Speaker Paul Ryan is emerging as the Republicans biggest counterweight to Donald Trump, The Hill wrote in January.
Since Trumps philosophy is so opposite of Ryans, if Trump were to win Wisconsin, it would be seen as a wholesale rejection of Ryan Republicanism. Losing Wisconsin would be politically devastating for Ryan and would make it exceedingly difficult for him to emerge out of the contested convention. As such, Wisconsin is a must-win for Ryan via a proxy of his policy viewpoints, Ted Cruz.
Paul Ryan and corporate media have sought to frame the GOP Civil War of voters versus donors and donor proxies (i.e. Fox News, Republican publications, and various corporate-owned radio networks) as a battle waged over something as frivolous as candidates tone rather than the substantive policy divisions between the electorate and the Partys corporate funders.

See post 138...taking a break, catch you all later.
The rules committee comprises two delegates from each state. The rules committee meets a few weeks before the convention. The rules committee is dominated by party hacks. If the “majority of delegates from 8 states” rule produces a candidate that the hacks object to, the rule will be modified.
Hello, Aunt B.
Ordinarily I don’t bother posting to you because you are among the most hopeless of the worshippers.
Thanks for calling me names and telling me to shut up. I don’t believe I said anything like that to you so....
I believe that makes me the better person.
So, I am only posting to you now to tell you that I don’t appreciate being called a troll or told to shut up.
In the future, if you cannot post anything substantive or sensible to me, kindly do not post to me again.
Then why are you people wasting hundreds of posts on the thing?
You are running scared and taking it out on Cruz and Cruz supporters.
Hey, we did not make Trump shoot himself in the foot so many times he can barely walk. He did it himself.
If and when Cruz no longer has a chance, he will have to decide what to do.
That time has not yet come.
Don’t forget Neil. If you need to work those financial numbers out, Neil can do it!
You are running scared and taking it out on Cruz and Cruz supporters.
Ha ha. Nobody is afraid of Ted Cruz and he bitter dead ender supporters. Cruz went 0 for 6 on Super Tuesday. Must win battleground states Cruz got 13% in OH and 17% FL. Get back to me when Trump is humiliated like that. LOL.
BUMP
You’ll be re-arranging the deck chairs on the S.S. Cruz even as the water begins to enter your GOPe-bought-and-paid-for nostrils.
You support Cruz. You support the GOPe.
Shake your deluded head and check my tagline.
What part of it don’t you get?
Math is hard, man!!! Gotta go Common Core!
Jim said that?! Wow.
[and Hillary will become president by default]
More than likely the GOPe plan by running another “Bush”, apparently the most tone-deaf one yet, and putting $100+ million dollars behind this NWO, open-borders traitor-designated-loser.
Trump has been attacked relentlessly, like no other candidate in history.
Your candidate, has not lead, he has only drafted behind Trump.
correct
FUPR!
THe rule change takes effect only if the majority of convention delegates ratify that rule change. I assert that a majority ( Trump and Cruz delegates combined ) will block any shinanigan except that Trump will allow a change to let Cruz be nominated if he doesn’t get the 8 state majority. Trump will do that to secure the majority of Delegats on the floor to approve the rules!! No one else under the rules may BE NOMINATED. This takes all the party hacks right out of it. There is no variance of rule 40 even on multiple ballots. I am seeing this is where Trump seizes power. Cruz will have to take VP. He is 45 years old and can replace Trump in 8 years. I am telling you that Rule 40 b has to be changed by majority of the convention delegates on any proposed change from the rules committee. This is the best news of the day!!
Trump is a smart guy.
Cruz is too.
Between the two of them, they will have the needed votes.
If both have the maturity of at least a 12 year old, if neither is gets the 1,237, then the one with fewer needs to work a deal with the other so one is the Presidential candidate and the other is the VEEP candidate on a ticket together....
....both Cruz and Trump, while neither perfect, would be miles ahead of Dole, Bush, etc (GOPe candidate) and light years ahead of the Dem Party candidates.
Trump and Cruz supporters should not cut off their noses to spite their faces.
