Donald J. Trump, who in recent days has mocked a political opponents wife, defended a campaign aide arrested on a charge of battery and suggested punishing women who terminate pregnancies, may have surrendered any remaining chance to rally Republicans strongly around him before the partys July convention in Cleveland.

I don’t think the GO-PEE will have any problem controlling Mr. Cr-ooze. He’s one of them now.
And who damaged him??? The F’n GOP establishment, that who.
F the GOPe.
I think what they fear the most: Prison.
The article reminds me of the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings.
After a week long lynching, lead by the awful Patrick Leahy, he said (paraphrasing): “Well, there may be some doubt that you actually did anything wrong, but I will vote against your confirmation anyway, in part because I believe the hearings have damaged you so badly you cannot effectively serve.” Smear him, then argue that the damage caused by the smear, makes him unfit to serve.
Then maybe you shouldn’t have damaged him, buttheads!
Amen brother! The GOP has been effing us voters for years. Regardless of what happens in this race the genie is out of the bottle and the establishment is gonna get their long overdue payback from the rank and file.
The GOPe is not responsible for the looming diasater, it is the weak minded suckers who have lent their support to an unhinged man, the depth of whose mental abberations are only now becoming apparent to all but the most sreiously beguiled.
Hopefully, it’s not too late. It’s like three minutes to midnight, but if somehow the beguiled, intoxicated ones can be awakened, we still have a chance to stop the statists.
There are members of the, how to say this, Democrat persuasion floating out there as casual visitors. And some paying visits are not so casual....perhaps their party has left them and they feel adrift?
For those willing to consider the state of affairs applying to both parties, temporarily set aside partisan instincts and take a cold-hearted look at how political parties behave once your vote is in their hands.
That vote is a place marker for sporting purposes, a bragging point when they get together to divvy up the spoils. Neither party’s interest in the voter exceeds what’s good for the party, and on that basis endows or withholds it’s favors to candidates in an election.
Trump’s appeal from one viewpoint is the “Not part of the club” schtick, thus not owing party favors. He has vast experience dealing with politicians of every persuasion, evidenced by a financial success dependent on skill in navigating infested waters.
Another consideration is that he has decided to encumber himself with the mantle of the presidency, an often thankless position, motivated by his apprehension for the country. The wealthy have more choices when facing adversity; yet, he has chosen not to retire from the field, but rally the people anew to claim our place within the world.
Those people with belief in the country, whatever their past affiliation, will find a hearty welcome as part of the movement toward national eminence. Set aside your past differences, all come together, and rouse our county to stand great once more.
Who is going to stop the statists?
Cruz is one of them.
Well said
Since the whole GOP leadership has been zombies for the last 25 years, they would know!!!
“G.O.P. Fears Donald Trump as Zombie Candidate: Damaged but Unstoppable”
That’s like General Sherman bitterly complaining about the burned out desolation from Atlanta to Savannah being unfit for habitation.
Excellent point. That had not occurred to me: I am too conditioned to think that State’s Rights no longer exist.
People don’t seem to realize that delegates can pass a resolution to rescind the current rules committee, fire them all, and vote in a new rules committee with different members. That destroys the entire GOPe.
Delegates can also declare, via resolution, that Karl Rowe and his gang are traitors to the stated GOP principles and remove them from the convention.
Now we’ve got a new party.
Aw, Ted Cruz is not THAT bad.
A bit misguided but I blame Law School for that.
