Rick Perry: Trump backers having 'second thoughts'
Washington Examiner ^ | April 1, 2016 | Kelly Cohen

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry believes many of Donald Trump's backers are having "second thoughts" about the businessman possibly becoming the Republican nominee and eventual commander in chief.

"He either, he doesn't care about these issues or, I don't think he is lazy," Perry, a former 2016 GOP presidential hopeful himself told host Martha MacCallum on the Fox News' "America's Newsroom" Friday morning.

“Hey Rick......you’re so over......and to think I actually voted for you for gooberner in the past. What was I thinking??........er, I guess I wasn’t......”

We all have to do pennace for some of our voting decisions. I voted for Arnold the Awful twice here in California, and all we got for our support was one illigitimate child. The only thing Arnold was good at at the end of the day was banging his maid!

I don’t know about Perry’s opinion, but it makes sense that some people who were expecting Trump to become more measured and “Presidential” in his demeanor would feel that that was not happening. I think Trump is more temperate than he was at the beginning of his campaign, but not a lot more. Some people also became disillusioned with Cruz, so it is no great insult or put-down, just a normal process over these long campaigns where people reassess their candidate over time.

** Many of my business associates have gone from “ Yeehaw! Make America great again!” To “ZOMG! What have we done?!!” **

That’s weird as most people I know here who are Trump supporters are doubling down. Those I know who have lost jobs in the oil thud, are looking at Trump’s idea on using our own oil resources, and saying adios to OPEC as a possible lifeline to save their future.

Did I say Trump won Texas? Those that voted for Trump helped give him delegates. They regret giving him winning any delegates. Is it truly that hard to understand?

That’s odd. Faris and Wilkes are huge Cruz donors. Frackers want Cruz. I don’t know a single person in the oil industry, including fitters that are supporting Trump these days.

I saw a poll from an oilfield affiliated publication. Their Poll showed 59% for Trump.

Reasons in the pro Trump comments were nopec, keystone, exemption from income taxes for laid off oilfield workers, economy and businessman.

Yeah, me too! I've had an epiphany with Trump emerging and pointing out the obvious day after day. When I think back to how much I wanted all the GOP candidates to win only to find out now that most of them weren't worth a $hit, with the exception of Reagan and Nixon. And the Booshes have been the worst. They've done inestimable harm to the country what with their useless wars, with the consequent loss of lives for nothing and all the money spent that we really didn't have. I am with you about hating politicians. I just hope a non-politiclan like Trump can turn things around, because I am absolutely convinced that NONE of the others will give us anything but more of the crap they've served

What's hard to understand is the histrionics over such a small thing.

It does seem as of April 2 that Mitt Romney’s “Dump Trump” movement has more chance of success than did George Romney’s “Dump Goldwater” effort 52 years ago.
