"Theres a $2.2 billion deficit and the schools were going begging and everything was going begging because he didnt want to raise taxes cause he was going to run for president," Trump said. "So instead of raising taxes, he cut back on schools, he cut back on highways, he cut back on a lot of things."
Thus states another Cruz org that btw just hired that pantheon of Trump objectivity and the ever excruciatingly hot Miss Fields partner in crime...

There are many ways to attack deficits
Wisconsin has lost 15,000 jobs to Mexico since NAFTA, Trump charged about the North American Free Trade Agreement. Kasich he voted for NAFTA.
Both of them want TPP, Trump said, referencing Kasich and Walker, who both support President Obamas Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal. That will make NAFTA look like a baby.

Why isn’t Trump running on democrat ticket?
He is full of lies like the others and just blames Bush et al.

I did a "thing" for about a year and a half on state budget numbers. One of the things that makes it hard to understand is that states HAVE to balance their budgets, by law.
They can't just write rubber checks, like the federal government.
Both the Democrat & Republican parties in the states thus get "creative" with the numbers and the spin.
Let me ask all you “pure” conservatives something.
You like driving on interstate highways?
You want our military to have the finest equipment?
You want our police to be properly armed and trained?
If not for taxes, who’s going to pay for the above?
Yes, there is lots of waste in the government. But there are some things the private sector cannot, or should not, administer or run.
He doesn't seem to have any coherent principles or philosophy.
Whatever pops into his head, comes out his mouth.
I heard him say this in a radio interview. This is the major reason I do not support Trump. I think he’s a liberal. When he says things like this, it just confirms my opinion. Government is way too big, and I already pay way too much in taxes. Government always runs a deficit; it’s what government does. And Trump’s solution to fill the hole is to raise taxes even further? Hell no! The solution is to cut! Cut everywhere!
What in the hell is wrong with Trump?
Has he gone bananas? It’s very possible since we’re living in a banana republic. Perhaps he has been a left-wing plant all along! I have been a Trump supporter from the get-go; however, this episode is over the top....or on the bottom with the other carp.
“”Theres a $2.2 billion deficit and the schools were going begging and everything was going begging because he didnt want to raise taxes cause he was going to run for president,” Trump said. “So instead of raising taxes, he cut back on schools, he cut back on highways, he cut back on a lot of things.”
Just another lie and democrat talking points.
Schools that are in trouble did not use the benefits of act 10 and continued to overpay the union contracts and union supplied health insurance. It was the big school districts run by liberal democrats in Milwaukee et al.
Cutting taxes without balancing the budget was irresponsible. Walker had a lot of support when he wanted to rein in public employees pay. So what happened with balancing the budget?
You know what this means. Both Walker and Sowell are now RINOs aka GOPe while Trump’s conservative credentials remain untarnished.
"Theres a $2.2 billion deficit and the schools were going begging and everything was going begging because he didnt want to raise taxes cause he was going to run for president," Trump said. "So instead of raising taxes, he cut back on schools, he cut back on highways, he cut back on a lot of things."
And this is a lie and a smear because...
Wisconsin had a projected $2.2 billion deficit at one point in 2014, but there was never an actual deficit since state law requires the budget to be balanced
Sorry, at the point that the deficit was projected, it would be reasonable to ask: How are we going to deal with this 2.2 billion dollar deficit? To be more precise one could say "How are we going to deal with the projected 2.2 billion dollar deficit."--I suppose that lack of precision is what makes Trump's statement a lie? Well, uhm, in the world of people that are not deranged...sorry no. It does not. As for smear, there is certainly a smear involved--namely the article itself.
But to add credibility to the article's little smear, they insult our intelligence by including an unrelated quote from Thomas Sowell giving an example of the laffer curve in action and making an argument for lowering taxes based on it. Apparently trying to make us leap to the conclusion that Trump must not understand the laffer curve and must be assuming that raising taxes gets more revenue in all cases. I suppose its easier than demonstrating that the case that Trump was addressing was such a case....better to just imply it and hope nobody notices that you haven't really made your case I suppose.
Unlike the Federal Government, states cannot print money. Walker had good intentions but after 15 bills that reduced taxes some 2 billion dollars it went past the point of diminishing returns. Yes, we want taxes to be as low as possible, but there are limits.
