lorida police have charged Donald Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski with simple assault in connection with an incident earlier in the month involving a reporter.
Police in Jupiter, Florida issued Lewandowski a notice Tuesday to appear before a judge on May 4 for the misdemeanor charge. A surveillance video released by the police appears to show Lewandowski grabbing a reporter for Breitbart News as she tried to ask Trump a question during a March 8 campaign event.
The police report states: "Lewandowski grabbed (Michelle) Fields' left arm with his right hand causing her to turn and step back." Fields showed police her left forearm which "appeared to show a grabbing-type injury," according to the investigating officer.

DT didn’t make an complaint. The cops are not going to set up defences for him or CL. That’s the accused’s responsibility. All they need to be satisfied with is that she was assaulted. And she was. So who is talking out of their %ss? Sounds like you. Since it is clear he did the issue will be resolved by bringing his defences to the table. If it ever gets that far.

How do you expect to block someone who is stepping in FRONT of you? Isn’t that what Corey had to do, restrain Fields momentarily from stepping in front and blocking his path towards regaining his position behind Trump?

I didn’t see any jerking of Fields, but in that one photo it looks like he restrained her momentarily and her own motion forward caused her to react to that restraint. Do you really put manners ahead of the safety of the Presidential candidate? When I ask that question understand I am not necessarily suggesting Fields was the actual threat. Another person who is an actual threat can exploit a momentary gap in the protective cordon created by Fields stepping into the campaign manager’s path to inflict lethal harm upon the Presidential candidate. Do you really want the people protecting the Presidential candidate to allow themselves to be squeezed out of their protective positions just to avoid offending or bruising a female reporter who puts herself in harm’s way?
This is just to suck his valuable time away, so as to disrupt the Trump campaign.
Which is pretty much what the government is all about these days - sucking valuable time away from the producers.
You know very well that "a simple apology" would not have sufficed.
Once the apology was secured, the drumbeat for his resignation would have begun. He is apparently THAT effective for the Trump team.
This "incident" is the equivalent of slashing one of the tires on someone's car. You have to take the time to fix it, or have it fixed, to keep moving on.

You are pretty ignorant of the history of allegations which in the end may or may not be justifiable. The cops have a video. They don’t care about CL’s defences. He might have every justifiable defence in the book. Whether the charge is frivolous or not will be left up to the defence and prosecution either in negotiation or in a trial.
Further, the “volatility” of the campaign cuts both ways. It may put unwarranted pressure on the police either way not just one way. If they don’t charge they may come under criticism as well. As I stated. I see an assault there. There may be several defences. We’ll see what happens.

Also, how come female journalists don't get beaten up by campaign managers at other GOP campaigns especially since neither Kasich nor Cruz have Secret Service protection and therefore have better reason to worry about the safety of their presidential candidate's, especially given the sheer volume of anti Cruz hate being spewed out by Donald Trump and given how mentally deranged Trumpbots are.

I am pretty familiar with such cases actually, and given the culture of violence and assaults at Trump rallies, I am going to go with the police on this one, rather than with deranged Trumpbot fanatics. Donald Trump himself said he could stand on 5th Avenue and shoot someone in plain daylight and his supporters would still stick with him. He was right. You guys are simply nuts.
You should look up the definition of Assault and Battery. He got charged with Battery, which is basically unwanted contact. It will be tossed in court.

See right there indicates your level of ignorance:
(1) He doesn’t have to be Secret Service if he perceives that Trump is being assaulted. Since there is no dispute from the video he was being assaulted by her unwanted touching of Trump (by definition this is an assault) he had a right to come to his defense. Just like if your husband/wife/child were aggressively pursued in the manner she did and was touched unjustifiably, unless your a wimp you would come to their aid.You would be justified in law to do so as long as you used reasonable force. Again, this will play out as a defense. Cops aren’t concerned about defenses. They leave that up to the defendant.
(2) Kasich and Cruz? Lol. Nobody comes to their pathetic gatherings except old people and religious zealots. In fact, if they had to put up with the cabal of leftist/globalist/BLM/Sanders wild animals they likely would curl up and die.
