lorida police have charged Donald Trump's campaign manager Corey Lewandowski with simple assault in connection with an incident earlier in the month involving a reporter.
Police in Jupiter, Florida issued Lewandowski a notice Tuesday to appear before a judge on May 4 for the misdemeanor charge. A surveillance video released by the police appears to show Lewandowski grabbing a reporter for Breitbart News as she tried to ask Trump a question during a March 8 campaign event.
The police report states: "Lewandowski grabbed (Michelle) Fields' left arm with his right hand causing her to turn and step back." Fields showed police her left forearm which "appeared to show a grabbing-type injury," according to the investigating officer.

Absolutely. Coming up hard on a VIP when intentions are not clearly defined -- eg, vetted by a campaign official -- is assault. You remember the guy who rushed Trump on the podium. Assault.
When and where did Fields "touch" Trump and why hasn't he filed against her for assault?
You don't know your legal terms. Assault requires no touching. You are thinking of Battery.
It's like a picinic type basket.
Trump needs to rope the reporters off like Hitlery does. Then liars like Fields would not have a story to tell.
You laugh like an idiot. Maybe history can be your friend:
“Lynette Alice “Squeaky” Fromme (born October 22, 1948) is an American would-be assassin best known for attempting to assassinate U.S. President Gerald Ford in 1975”

Don’t care what gender it is. You try to obstruct the way of a candidate as he is leaving then a reporter or not, female or not stay out of the way.
It won't, because the point is to make headlines now with the sensational allegations, then quietly drop the charges behind the scenes before the video has to be shown to any neutral party.
“Oh man....you are good at making excuses.”
I don’t see you answering the question! It was not a rhetorical question. Have you ever been in an unmannerly crowd of journalists like that and had to push your way forward through them to maintain position where you belong? If so, why would you expect to remember every person you laid a hand upon to restrain them from blocking your path and interfering with maintaining security around the person you are helping to protect?
Classic Trump perspective.
Money solves problems. If the problem isn’t solved, throw down more money.
Democrats think like that. Trump is a Democrat, but not right now. He’ll change again. Watch.
Can Trump sue her for filing a false report? I seem to remember her saying she was knocked to the ground and obviously that didn’t happen
I will now quote Megan Keilly, “Toughen up cupcake.”
I’m guessing who ever wrote that ridiculous account is not a Trump fan? Grabbing someones arm - if he even did that -is battery?
She claims she was “almost” pulled to the ground. IOW she was not. She also was “almost” murdered and “almost” a professional as a reporter.
I’m “beaten to a pulp” during my shopping trips at WalMart. ;-) It’s hard being a skinny old man.
Because Trump understands money does not make him a democrat.
If you do not know and understand that the only defense in court is tons and tons of money then you are very naïve.
It can technically be a battery but it’s a supercilious charge in this case, and there are many defenses. If you are walking down the street and grab a woman’s arm it can be a battery.
If you are the campaign manager for a presidential candidate who has his security around him, and you pull a reporter back out of the candidate’s protected area, you might be legally justified in doing so.
No professional journalist would bring a criminal charge, no sensible local prosecutor would want to prosecute it.
The woman is a jerk, as in her supposed statements immediately after that “Trump always surrounds himself with thugs”.
That’s the whole point isn’t it? Girls climb into the ring with the guys because they want equality, but cry like little babies when they get jostled like the guys. (In this case, whoever is protecting Trump certainly doesn’t know what kind of heater she might have slipped through.)
Go back home where you belong, girls.

Wasn’t there a Super Secret He-Man Womens’ Hater Club meeting here recently?

Actually, I understand assault quite well. While physical contact might not be necessary, you do have to have perpetrated an "action" that would have made Trump fear for his safety. Asking him a question or WALKING NEXT TO HIM does not qualify....unless they are backed up by some other type action that would cause Trump (or Lewandowski) to be afraid for Trump's PHYSICAL well being from the little girl.
NOT a SINGLE Security Agent reacted to Fields...and they are trained to look for danger.
Talk about blowing smoke.....
