With just three candidates left in the Republican primary race, Donald Trump now holds 48 percent support of registered Republicans and Republican-leaners, according to the NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll. This is more than 20 points higher than his second-place competitor, Ted Cruzwho now enjoys 27 percent support. John Kasich got a boost of 2 points this week and holds third place with 18 percent support.
The question in the Republican race, however, is no longer whether Trump is the clear front-runner, but whether he will reach the magic delegate number of 1,237and, if not, whether Republicans will support him as their partys nominee going forward. These are big questions that have implications for the direction of the Republican Party and, ultimately, the outcome of the 2016 presidential race.

I like that pic of the melon head Carl Rove. Cannot stand seeing that clown any longer on Fox!!!!
Just a rest on the plateau before scaling the next peak
and more to come.
Cruz should drop out soon and Trump will get more than enough delegates.
Santorum dropped out after he lost Wisconsin. Cruz will have no mathematical path to the majority of delegates if he finishes third in the next primaries.
I just watched it....
The Most Cring-worthy video I have ever seen..
Carly comes over as the "Mother-in Law from Hell... Carly ranting about Trump (must have been listening to Levin)
Cruz nodding /smirking
What the F are they thinking
Watching Cruz campaign self destruct before our very eyes.
Unbelievable.
The media in a serious attempt to boost ratings for the last 2 years has encouraged the Republicans to campaign themselves into a frenzy and run themselves ragged so that Hilliary can move in for the kill.
It's weird that all the candidates have taken the bait and allowed themselves to be sucked into this scenario. The media encourages and enjoys reporting on the petty mudslinging.
If these guys are so smart why are they continuing to go along with the charade? At least at one point Trump said, “enough with the debates”.
Does anybody understand why the Republicans have fallen for this rouse.
When it comes down to Trump vs. any RAT that number will go way up. Add in the 5-10% of RAT voters who are honest enough to reject voting for a criminal or a commie and it's hello President Trump.
Disclosure: He is not my first choice.
There needs to be a poll asking Republucans, on a scale of 1-10, how much they hate their arrogant elites. From “mildly annoyed” to “shaking with white-hot fury”-—
It is obvious to me that both Cruz and Kasich are playing to make an open convention necessary.
Do you believe either of them are such honorable men that they’d never dream of stealing the nomination at the convention?
The GQ picture was not in the public domain, it had to be purchased as it was copy written and it appears that it was, by Cruz’s campaign manager, and then given to the superPAC to use in the ad.
That is why Trump keeps saying that Cruz knew all about the use of the picture.
I have no problem with Cruz being part of the plot to use the picture. That’s not the point. The point is that it is not a big game issue. It’s hunting rabbits.
“Public domain” has a legal definition regarding use of copyrighted material, but it also has the sense of ‘being out there already for everyone to see.’
Those pictures were not secret. They were public.
“It is obvious to me that both Cruz and Kasich are playing to make an open convention necessary.”
We’ll see.
I’m not convinced that Cruz is going for an open convention. Once he has no mathematical path to the majority of delegates and with the campaign taking a toll on his marriage, I say he’ll drop out.
Kasich is clearly hoping to be picked as the VP. He is not delusional enough to believe that he will be the nominee after losing the primaries in 49 states and all the territories.
I believe Trump said yesterday to move on from this.
The prospect of 8 years of Hillary has me waking up nights screaming. I don't think we survive intact as a country with her.
I too like Cruz BUT I sure don't understand him.
It isn’t a true daily. It is a 5 day tracking, which shows the results of each day within. I expect a new one tomorrow or later this week.
Yeah, but if you go to the graph on their site, you can select the day you want results for, and that is daily. So that tells me they have the data, but they don’t publish it.
I suspect Trump may be doing well, but they don’t want to show the results because it goes against the narrative that he is struggling.
his adopted home state of Texas with 53% of the vote,
Probably a typo. Cruz got a lackluster 43% in TX.”
You’re exactly right. 43% in his “home state”. That’s sad.
Thanks for that report! I’m seeing the exact same thing: an apolitical couple I know had given up on having a decent choice at the ballot box. Both are very excited about Trump—he’s got their votes and their verbal support.
It’s an uphill climb for Trump in Wisconsin, radio hosts hate him, home of Paul Ryan, Reince Priebus, Governor Walker endorsing Cruz. But Trump has beat the odds before, praying.
But also, saw Trump complain that the showed Dem poll on NBC but not his where he’s killing everyone. I seriously think it’ s a joint effort by news to block polls. There just are so few popping up these days.
WOW - that’s an impressive lead.
