With just three candidates left in the Republican primary race, Donald Trump now holds 48 percent support of registered Republicans and Republican-leaners, according to the NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll. This is more than 20 points higher than his second-place competitor, Ted Cruzwho now enjoys 27 percent support. John Kasich got a boost of 2 points this week and holds third place with 18 percent support.
The question in the Republican race, however, is no longer whether Trump is the clear front-runner, but whether he will reach the magic delegate number of 1,237and, if not, whether Republicans will support him as their partys nominee going forward. These are big questions that have implications for the direction of the Republican Party and, ultimately, the outcome of the 2016 presidential race.

The buzz is ...... several years ago, Heidi filed for legal separation based on Ted/s infidelity. Papers have yet to surface...probably sealed.
Then again, that/s how Obama won his Chicago Senate seat.....David Axelrod finagled to get sealed divorce papers on Obama/s opponent which contained salacious details WRT group sex, etc.
But what about that new Faux Poll that showed Trump and Cruz statistically tied? Will bloody Megyn start her show tonight with this new poll? Pigs would fly first.
Wooooot woooooooooooo oooooooot
All Aboard the Trump Train!
‘The one glaring omission in these polls are the registered independants that left the party long ago. They are all in for Trump and his numbers are significantly higher.Just hide and watch.’
So true!
You put the whole thing into perspective very clearly...thanks! Cruz really does have a lackluster candidacy...
Notice his wife hasn’t been seen with him.
We are starting to see just who are the faux conservatives in the party. All the frauds are being exposed, Rush, Levin, Beck it’s getting wild out here. Hopefully tonight goes well st the Trump rally.
That dress might fit hillary if she’d wear a dress. /// And it looks like rove is about to pop that dress.
Does anyone know why the Reuters daily poll isn’t released daily?
The version up there now is dated March 25.
Sean Hannity’d new favorite “front runner” and “outsider” has won 8 small caucus states, his adopted home state of Texas with 53% of the vote, and little Texas, also called Oklahoma where he barely beat Trump. He has been summarily destroyed all over the country in 21 states won by the real front runner who’s name is Donald Trump, especially in the South, where other than Texas he was shut-out! If Trump had the same numbers as Cruz would anyone be calling him a serious candidate? Not hardly.
The polls in states do not say I’m wrong, and every state is crucial at this point if Trump wants to go to the convention with 1237. Wisconsin is now neck and neck, and it’s an MOE 3-way tie. He cannot give away ANY delegates. He must fight intelligently for each of them.
So, you know I’ve been a Trump supporter for months. That gut tells me that chaos reigns in the campaign right now, and that drawing the wrong kind of attention will injure. So, don’t kill flies with a shotgun. That’s my caution.
I stand by it.
the wording wasn’t nice, sir!
As a Cruz supporter, I fear you're right. I like Ted, I think he's the most conservative, and I think the Media (read Democratic /Socialists) fear him which is why they're trashing him, in spite of his only being second. I think he'd make Hillary look like an organ grinder's chimp in the debates. That being said, if Trump is the nominee, I'll carry people to the polls to vote for him...
The prospect of 8 years of Hillary has me waking up nights screaming. I don't think we survive intact as a country with her.
‘his adopted home state of Texas with 53% of the vote,’
Probably a typo. Cruz got a lackluster 43% in TX.
He’s probably really over 50% but it would kill them to say so.
I agree that the retweet was probably not helpful but I think that the damage was minor and fleeting.
Agreed. Time for the Donald to show he's Presidential and not just a street fighter. You wouldn't See Reagan getting in the gutter, he'd make a joke and shut the attacker up.
I like the way Melania Trump has handled it. No statements publicly. Quiet and classy. Considering it was her that was the target of the shaming, she has all kinds of reasons to speak out. For a woman some on FR have called a “skank” and a “slut”, she sure has taken the high road.
Around here the democrat want that wall built. So add them. A dear friend and her husband haven’t voted for decades. They are both very proTRUMP. And have made it their mission to quietly convince others to vote for his pay his own way campaign
Sometimes the ‘sticks and stones’ adage is correct and should be heeded
In my mind Wisconsin is not a raucus place, so if he were heading into New York next week, then that’s one thing. But heading into Midwestern states it requires a different tone.
