'We stand by the integrity of our coverage and remain committed to our aggressive reporting'
Donald Trump insisted Friday he had nothing to do with the recent National Enquirer story in which Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is accused of cheating on his wife multiple times.
Still, Trump took the moment to point out the tabloid publication has been right in the past with similar stories.
I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this weeks issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it, Trump said in a statement. Ted Cruzs problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin Ted Cruz.

Even if it is never proven about the Cuban Mistress Crisis, Cruz’s immoral actions subsequent dragging Trump in as a diversion and still continuing it still today justifies the treatment Cruz is getting for his dishonest actions.
I don’t see him as thin skinned. If you saw the roast they did on him, it was brutal.
Trumps philosophy is that you always have to fight back.
didn’t 2 of them already say it was false?
that is all I have heard from any of them.

It’s a mystery to me.
That is exactly what was being said about John Edwards at this stage of the scandal.
Previously in the campaign:
as Carson overtakes Trump as the GOP front-runner, it appears Trump is getting help from a media outlet known for ending presidential candidacies: the National Enquirer. Earlier this month, the Enquirer published a cover story on Carson headlined Bungling Surgeon Ben Carson Left Sponge in Patients Brain! The article called Carson a White House wannabe and claimed he brandished a scalpel like a meat cleaver!
Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. Theyre very close, said a source close to the Enquirer.
This person also said that Trumps campaign was a source for the article: His campaign provided information that was used, he explained. A Trump friend said that in the days leading up to the articles publication Trump was telling people that Carson had a lot of medical malpractice suits and almost killed a guy.
Trumps spokesperson, Hope Hicks, told me theres absolutely no truth to the claim Trump was behind the article. When I asked the Enquirer for comment, Pecker said it was utterly false that the Trump campaign was their source.

Well said.
So, I have done a few Internet searches about this.
I searched for: Ben Shales gq sales
Results: Nothing showing Ben Shales in GQ Sales.
I searched for: Ben Shales gq
Results: Nothing showing Ben Shales at GQ
Have you found anything authoritative that shows Ben Shales at GQ?
Also, there is a separate company, Conde Nast, that handles all permissions for the use of copyrighted photos from GQ. It is apparently not handled by anyone at GQ.
Do you have any information that contradicts that?
I can’t believe the tabloid that carries pictures of bigfoot and green men from outer space is being cited at FR. but I couldn’t believe that sh*t publications and sites like salon and PMSNBC are being cited, either.
people should remember that when you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.
When the lewinsky scandal hit, both parties denied it.
You are false witnessing right now...
cruz if he did no wrong has no problem and he should of thought of his wife and girls, before he ever ran for President...
You must be a democrat and are terrified of Trump...the rest of us freepers don't attach like you do
Both parties involved that is: bill and Monica
I disagree. This is THE major political news story of the weekend.
Discussing it does not have to mean you are claiming it is true. It is huge.
Like many times in the past, Cruz was slow to cut this off immediately and let it run. Then he did a bizarre press conference and blamed Trump instead of Rubio and it was so over the top it looked staged. All worth talking about, whether or not he was involved in the bang of 8.
“I see nothing about you that would lead me to think you have a high IQ of any kind....”

Well, my IQ is high enough for me to understand who wrote post #1 above. Your IQ apparently wasn’t high enough to do even that.
Thank you trisham
The National Enquirer's parent company, AMI, also released a statement.
"No one influences the reporting that the National Enquirer does other than our own reporters and editors," according to the statement. "We stand by the integrity of our coverage and remain committed to our aggressive reporting on such an important topic. The National Enquirer, more than any other publication, has been unflinching in its reporting on the 2016 presidential candidates."
I appreciate everything you post, too. Keep it up and ignore the childrens’ tantrums. That’s what children do.
