The National Enquirer published a story this week accusing Texas Senator Ted Cruz of multiple extramarital affairs.
.....
It was discovered that weeks ago a large number of Marco Rubio operatives and supporters were trying to bring the sex scandal story to the MSM attention.
Under the open guise of #TheThing they were communicating via various twitter feeds and following along to see if the story had been picked up. Most of the activity was centered around March 10th March 15th.
Yesterday the hashtag CruzSexScandal went viral. Today, many of those DC operatives, participants, supporters, consultants, Super-PACs and campaign advisors have spent a great deal of time deleting their (The Thing) participation. The peak of their scrubbing coincided with Senator Ted Cruz accusing Donald Trump of planting the story.
......
Virtually everyone in the blog-o-sphere who supported Marco Rubio was active, tweeting, re-tweeting, or following the events related to #TheThing. Now theyre running for cover and trying to hide their fingerprints.
Anti-Trump Republican operative Rick Wilson tweeted this out weeks ago. (He has since deleted it.)

The story is getting some legs and it looks like Ted got plenty of leg too.
LOL, Yes you’re right.
Thanks. I won’t tell. “:^)
Ivy league lawyers huffed and puffed when NE came out with these stories, and they did nothing to stop or change the stories.
Gary Hart and mistresses
Bill Clinton and mistresses
John Edwards and mistresses
Tiger Woods and mistress
And Now!
Ted Cruz and mistresses
Wouldn’t be surprised.
I know a guy who needs money right now.
I must have fifty messages from him in my in box. I even have a few from his wife.
Heh heh heh...
The question of the day/weekend. Maybe he could be Kasick's or Ryan's VP!
Judge Judy or Jeanine Pirro?
And how many false reports has NE had?
Why would NE not name the people involved? It’s a rumor that they can’t be sued over if it’s wrong. But they would have no reason to fear a suit if they believed their own words about how solid the story is.
I don’t know what the truth is, and probably never will. I think I’ll hold off on my holy pitchfork...
I don’t care who you vote for!
Yes it is. Trump tells us he is a PRESBYTERIAN that he thinks is so much better than one of those Seventh Day Adventists. He also attacks Carson's conversion experience. Does Donald even know what a conversion experience is?
Trump doesn't even have the humility to ask forgiveness or doesn't show understanding of basic Christian doctrine and yet he attacks other candidate's faith.
Point 1: Ted Cruz came out and said the NE article is ALL LIES.
The NE article said Ted donated HALF A MILLIONS DOLLARS to Carly Fiorina’s campaign.
Which is true. That makes Ted a liar.
That's not what happened here at all - Cruz never had standards, and yet easily conned you Tedlims into thinking he did...
Wow, and that's a libel statute where again? lol
In the post you made to me, you addressed Trump’s criticism of Carson. You didn’t address his claims of being a good Presbyterian. If you had as you did here I would have agreed to a point.
I don’t recall him claiming he was going to take the South as Ted did.
I also saw Trumps claim to be a Christian differently than I saw Ted’s claim.
Trump seemed to be saying he was a Christian in good standing. Cruz seemed to be saying he was God’s appointed man for this time.
Admittedly, that’s simply my take on it, but I’ll bet other folks came away with that same impression.
Trump brags about how many married women he’s slept with. No problem. Says he’s never needed forgiveness from God for anything. No problem.
If Cruz had those standards it wouldn’t matter what he did. So Cruz’s “sin” - according to the way people here act - is that he ever stood for standards in the first place.
That’s where America is at, and that includes “conservatives”. We prefer the boastful fornicator to the “hypocrite”.
Romans 1:32 gives the ultimate judgment on the Roman people. It’s bad enough that the people are depraved in their thinking and do bad stuff, but the ultimate statement is “they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”
I realize that politics is not the same thing as “religion”. But the mindset of the American people is a very, very sad thing to behold. The country is decaying because there is very little salt to preserve the meat. And anybody who does try to be salt is immediately shot down because they might be a sinner, as their very profession of Christianity is supposed to mean.
America is in worse condition than even I ever thought. I seriously doubt whether this nation can be saved. The only One who could do it is God but that’s not where we’re looking for help.
That second picture has Heidi with very much a Malia Obama expression on her face.
Despite the Godwin's law stuff, the voters here are every bit as vulnerable as the Germans in the early '30s. Our currency hasn't collapsed yet, but the grocery budget has gone up despite assurances of no inflation, and we have (true) unemployment that is comparable. For however long the numbers can be gamed, the currency may survive. And one of the candidates has promised a large public works project which might put large numbers back to work...
People are people. The same things which motivated them thousands of years ago essentially motivate them now, only the technology is different. At different times, almost any population can be more vulnerable than others, especially when the standards of conduct which constrain human nature are released.
It may well be that none of the candidates are any good, for a variety of reasons. It would not be the first time I found them all lacking. In that case, the one thing that isn't happening here past the slogan level is exactly what is needed to sort out which is the best of what is there. We really need to look at the issues confronting this nation instead of tabloid crap.
Lol! Nope, but Trump hasn't twitter attacked my wife, either, or blamed me for what an independent PAC has done (posting a picture his wife posed for).
lol- Yeah, the court opinion in the wong kim case was so instrumental to current law- not- As soveriegns, the courts have declared that a soveriegn passes their citizenship down to their offspring as per amendments and articles specifically 1401 and 1409- The congress DID and DOES have the right to declare who needs naturalization and who doesn’t- that’s a fact- and if you woudl bother to check it out, you would clearly see that Ted, McCain, Romney’s father etc all fall under the conferring of citizenship to a soveriegn’s child regardless of place of birth
It’s simple common sense- A citizen mother who is on vacation and has has a child overseas does NOT denounce her citizenship and transfer her ‘new citizenship of the foreign country’ over to her child because she has NOT gone through a process renouncing her US citizenship and declaring allegiance and gaining citizenship to the country in which she has her child- She is still a citizen of the US when she has her child-
Adn the icing o nthe cake? The child assumes the citizenship of it’s citizen mother or father because citizenship is automatically passed to the child UNTIL that child reaches the ‘age of accountability’ (legally, 18) and can choose whether or not they wish to Remain a US citizen or not-
I realize you wish Ted wasn’t a citizen- but there is a reason the courts have not weighed in on the matter and that reason is because they understand that congress DOES have the right to define who needs naturalization and who doesn’t-
It all boils down to two key terms “At Birth” and “By Birth” A court opinion in a case such as wong vs kim is irrelevant- it is court opinion that conflicts with many cases since and before that recognize congress’s right to declare who needs to go through a process of naturalization and who doesn’t- You may not agree with their right to do so- but recent court cases have made it clear it is their right- you can do your own research on this issue- and look up the 1401 law yourself- You can argue it isn’t law if you like, but the courts disagree with you- Even Larry Tribe- the lawyer who trump Misquoted, the lawyer who trump is deceitfully basing his sleazy attack on Ted’s citizenship, agrees Ted is a natural born citizen- and Tribe has far more experience than you or i when it comes to Natural born citizenship and the Naturalization process-
If you dont’ believe me, then look up Tribe’s own words on the issue- He Never said Ted wasn’t a natural born citizen- Trump deceitfully made it appear that He did- The bottom lien is that the majority of constitutional lawyers do believe that people in Ted’s position are natural born citizens- while only a handful of lawyers ignore the laws o n the books and argue he and people like him aren’t
[[A person born out of the jurisdiction of the United States can only become a citizen by being naturalized....]]
That’s funny, because that court opinion flies in the face of current law- A citizenship acquires AT BIRTH, the citizenship of their parent who is a soveriegn citizen of the us who has every right, and indeed legal obligation to, as a sovereign of the US, to pass along their citizenship to their child- The underage child is bound by law to the same nation’s laws that the parent is bound by-
Not that you’ll accept any of this I’m sure- but the courts are very clear on this issue- and pointing to a court opinion that flies in the face of many consequent cases which refute that court opinion doesn’t help your case any
I’m not gettign into al ong drawn out argument over this- this issue has been beaten to death on FR- and like it or not, the courts have rueld that cognress does have a right and obligation to declare who needs to be naturalized and hwo doesn’t-
For soem excellent analysis and breakdown of the facts, please look up springfieldreformer here on FR and go through his posts on this topic- He, beign a lawyer, has doen a far better job than I could of explaining this issue in actual legal terms, and explaining why the courts have refused to take the issue up- There is a reason they haven’t
