Poor Gov. John Kasich. He can't catch a break.
In Arizona's Republican primary, Kasich actually found himself in fourth place, despite there only being three Republican candidates remaining in the race. Arizona allows early voting nearly a month before the actual election day. Thus, a whole lot of people voted for Marco Rubio before he suspended his campaign last Tuesday--enough to propel him to a third-place finish. Rubio received nearly 23,000 more votes than Kasich.
This, of course, begs the question: why is Kasich still in the race?

But he won Ohio.
He is doing name recognition as Cruz is also doing same for 2020.

Ted Cruz has an actual shot at the nomination — a long shot, granted, but a real shot. John Kasich does not. He’d have to win 117 percent of the delegates remaining to get to 1237.

According to him, it doesn’t matter the votes from the people, it’s the voting rules at the convention that counts.

(oh the stories I could tell. but I really don't think scalia's death is suspiciou.)

why is Kasich still in the race? If Kasich exits the race, Ohio will give his 66 Ohio delegates to the second place finisher . . . Mr Donald J Trump. The GOPe can't let that happen!

Kasich still in the race?
The same reason cruz is, to install a gopE candidate at a contested convention.

4th? Tell us John, how did you do it?
Now tell us why you keep doing it?
To: TBP
why is Kasich still in the race? To keep the anti-Trump vote divided and keep it from coalescing around Cruz.

No, he doesn't. He would need to 88% of the delegates left and he hasn't even gotten 50% to date. He is still in the race because jeb and mit want him there. If they are able to prevent Trump from winning, they will drop cruz like the little bitch that he is.

To paraphrase Rubio - Lets dispel this notion that John Kasich doesnt know that he’s losing. He knows exactly that he’s losing. He’s trying to change the outcome.
To: TBP
Yes, and T.Rump came in third in Utah.
Kasich came in next to last in Utah.
Curz came in two places from last place in Utah.
To: Rusty0604
He’s correct. If nobody has enough delegates to win on the first ballot then it’s wide open.
Too bad Trump spent so much time insulting his opponents. That could come back to bite him in the a$$ at the convention.
