Echoing a sentiment shared by millions of Republican primary voters across the country, conservative Fox News host Sean Hannity essentially placed the GOP establishment on notice during his Wednesday program.
The popular host was speaking about the not-so-secret plan that the party elites intend to try and use a "brokered" convention to more or less steal the nomination away from front-running candidate Donald Trump should he fail to garner the required number of delegates beforehand.
Hannity then proceeded to voice his extreme displeasure with the idea, even suggesting he would abandon the party if it came to that.
Hannity asked rhetorically, Are they going to cut their nose to spite their face?
"You know, if they are going to be that self destructive, and if they're going to pout, and if they're going to pick up their little toys, and they're going to go home like a bunch of babies, they will destroy, there will be no Republican Party at the end of this," Hannity proclaimed.
"Because if they're successful, guess what? Cruz and Trump supporters are walking out," he stated. "And, I'm walking out with them."
This is a threat that the GOP establishment should take seriously, as Hannity remains fairly influential among the more conservative base of the party.
SERIOUS? I was under the impression Jindal don’t like Trump very early in the campaign
You are the most vile disgusting person, and frankly I am quite sure Mr. Trump wouldn’t want or NEED your damn vote!!!
“Hannity [is] ... a member of NYs Conservative Party.”
True, but absent a Conservative Party nominee, they all vote R, IF they vote. I have some family members who are registered as NYS “Conservative Party” but who vote R in general elections. One, at least, will probably stay home in November if Ted isn’t the nominee. But I think he’s pretty much an “outlier.”
Jindal said last year. “Trump is a shallow, unserious, substance-free, narcissistic egomaniac.”
Mad man that must be stopped. So what has changed?
Right. We all know how they changed the rules for Jeb to be sure Paul wouldn’t be the nomination. What’s to say they don’t change the rules to be sure Trump doesn’t succeed? I wouldn’t put anything past any of them including Ted Cruz. He’s certainly not above the establishment, he’s one of them.
The masses will abandon go no matter which way establishment goes...go stopped being conservative at prep level with romney...jack Kennedy was more conservative than Romney and trump put together
You’re welcome to your opinion.
Candidates from ‘brokered conventions’, of either party, typically do not do well in the General Election. There are a few exceptions, Lincoln for example, but usually they lose...............
REPUBLICAN .... MEANS CONSERVATIVE... OR IT USED TO STAND FOR OUR CONSTIUTION AND NOT FOR THE GRADUAL EROSION OF OUR FREEDOMS AND FAITH.
WAKE UP PEOPLE ... ,GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I agree with Hannity that attempts to steal the nomination from Trump are wrong and wrong-headed. But I disagree in that I don't believe there will be much of a Republican party left come 2017 regardless of who the nominee is.
FWIW, the GOPe dismiss him as a blue collar idiot who is only where he is because of them. Much like what the GOPe thinks of us too. That is why I hate them.
So blinded by hate, a Cruznadian neglected to comprehend the article. Hannity said he will bolt if the GOPe shafts either Trump or cruz via a brokered convention. He’s sticking up for your guy, too.

Some people have yet to understand that the GOPe doesn’t really WANT to have the POTUS;. It is much easier for them to rape the American economy, and the American worker if they can blame it on a Democrat POTUS. Anyone with a lick of common sense knew McCain & Romney couldn’t win against ANY Democrat. Think about it. NOT rocket science
That's right. Several FReepers have been calling Hannity a RINO for years now. I've never understood that. He hates the GOPe as much as FReepers do...
Or rather they do not want to be placed on the hot seat.
