While not necessary, the “Mormon missionary” description explains his presence in Europe and is an interesting tidbit. It’s certainly not used as a negative.
Both he and the young man who is his partner in the mission were badly hurt in the bombing.

There were 4 Mormon missionaries in the airport when the bomb went off. His religion was mentioned because he is currently serving on his mission in Belgium. His story is peculiar because it is the third time he has been in proximity to muslim terrorist acts. He got hurt this time.
