Donald Trump would lead either Ted Cruz or John Kasich in a two-way race, according to the results of a Quinnipiac University national poll released Wednesday. Asked whom they would like to win the GOP nomination, 43 percent of the 652 Republicans surveyed said they wanted Trump to emerge as the party's choice in Cleveland, followed by 29 percent for Cruz and just 16 percent for Kasich, with 9 percent undecided.
Missed that point. So cruz basically does not go for the notion of halting Islamic immigration? Did he address it directly. Would love to see that.
I had a Cruz supporter say that Trump is backing off the idea of a moratorium.
Let’s see. Billions in free media time for Trump, and very little for the others. This election is proving the old adage, “People are easily duped.” I thought that conservatives were a tiny bit smarter than to fall for a phony liberal like Trump, but I was wrong.
If Ted Cruz gets the nomination, Hillary will be President. It’s as simple as that. Cruz stands zero chance of being President, as he cannot beat Hillary.
Trump’s negatives are through the roof, and I’m sorry to say that Trump is the one guy that Rotten can defeat.

So this is a good poll this time? I have a hard time knowing when Trump likes a poll or not. Oh wait, I know they are only accurate when they show Trump winning, so this is a good poll. Nevermind.

I keep hearing this. Kept hearing how fantastic Ted would do in the debates.
He had what, 8-9 shots at Trump and failed.
Ted thinks these are actual debates. They are not. Trump wins the majority of the audience. Ted tries to score points.
At this point, time has passed Ted by for debates, but you can dream.

They won’t dislike it - they will deny that it has any validity or relevance.
I’m afraid you sound delusional. Trump is leading in every poll. Cruz doesn’t have enough numbers in the polls to stand a chance of beating Hillary. In fact, Cruz is just plain unlikeable to many, including myself. I don’t like the way he looks, his body language is off, and I don’t trust him.
I don’t think you can tell this at all by just this poll. I heard Cruz on CNN today and he said two things - and I’m not vouching for the accuracy of either:
1) That they have polling data which indicates that if Kasich dropped out that the majority of his supporters would go to Cruz. (i.e. Trumps ceiling is somewhere in the 40% range) and
2) He claimed that they have polling which indicates that Utah would go Blue if it were Trump vs. Hillary.
Those are both pretty bold and if true, pretty telling. Frankly, at this point, I’m beginning to come to grips with the fact that we’re going to get Hillary. I’ve kind of thought that all along, but now I’m really getting convinced.

For me, that’s true of most politicians, but it has been especially disappointing to watch Cruz fall apart under the pressure of a tough national campaign.
See post 18, not sure what 1 part of the poll you are trying to claim a pick and choose on, Trump wins this poll every way its sliced... Wins the 3 way, and wins the head to heads.... your accusations of picking and choosing one part of a poll is an odd one to be making.
Actually, it utterly asked exactly that question, but you Cruz people are so good at denying reality that you’ll all just pretend it isn’t there.

Stop Al, please stop. Cruz lost, and will not be the nominee. A more productive use of your vitriol, envy and anger would be at defeating Hillary and not tilting at windmills like the rest of the Joseph Goebbels segment of the Ted Cruz Fan club here in FR
These forums were mislabeled “debates”. Whenever things got interesting, the idiot mods would change the subject. A real Lincoln-Douglas-style debate would expose Donald as the empty suit that he is. He is smart enough to realize it.
