AIPAC’s apology for Trump speech is unprecedented
Washington Post ^ | 3/22/16 | David Weigel

This morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu experienced something that American politicians have become all too familiar with — being overshadowed by Donald Trump.

The prime minister’s video-linked speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's conference was preceded by the unscheduled introduction of AIPAC President Lillian Pinkus and four other leaders. Choking back tears, Pinkus apologized for Monday night's speeches, implying that Donald Trump had violated a nonpartisan standard.

“From the moment this conference began, until this moment, we have preached a message of unity,” Pinkus said. “We have said, in every way we can think of: Come together. But last evening, something occurred which has the potential to drive us apart, to divide us. We say, unequivocally, that we do not countenance ad hominem attacks, and we take great offense to those that are levied against the president of the United States of America from our stage.”

More political elite BS! Many in audience were applauding Trump! More elites out of step with the people!

It was funny and idiotic. the place freakin’ LOVED Trump. And she goes out there getting choked up with her “leave Obama alone” routine.

Like the crowd needs to obey her or something.

Organizations that are serious about not countenancing ad hominem attacks do not invite people like Donald Trump to give speeches at their events.

What was AIPAC expecting?

Donald Trump is the political version of Don Rickles on steroids. And his attacks aren’t merely against individuals, they’re also against entire groups, for example, Mexicans, whom he called ‘’criminals and rapists,’’ the hundred million-plus Muslims in the world, and the Pope and his 1.2 million adherents.

Just because the only group Donald Trump hasn’t attacked yet are Jews doesn’t mean AIPAC should have given him a forum to attack others.

“Pinkus is despicable. Crying over Der Fuhrer being offended”

What’s she called, a “kapo”, right?

I watched the entire speech. Trump was getting interrupted often by applause, several times that included people rising to their feet in support of his comments.

They are just sensitive because he got a rousing cheer for his criticism of Obama, and the libs are apoplectic.

He got more than a rousing cheer for just that one line. The speech was very, very well received by the audience.

AIPAC is just a shell of what it used to be. The libs have infiltrated it both physically and psychologically.

Now cowardice replaces strength and yellow stripes replace the Blue and White.

The House LOVED that speech —I could feel it. I loved it, too...!

It says quite A LOT about AIPAC when their leadership APOLOGIZES for that speech. I believe I will not relish the word, “chutzpah” ever again as much as I did before.

I really the value the chance to learn about AIPAC, and to learn that the bad things I sometimes hear about them are apparently not all untrue.

Why do SUCH GREAT parts of so many leadership organizations really cherish COWARDICE...?

Pinkus wasn’t offended when Hillary was alluding to Trump that morning in her speech in a very critical manner.

Trump received standing ovations, and Obama has not been a friend to Israel.

So, what’s the beef?

I wonder what Bibi thought of Trump’s speech...even if he didn’t say much, publicly?

“Mexicans, whom he called ‘’criminals and rapists,’

No, he didn’t, and you have a moral responsibility to know that.

“the hundred million-plus Muslims in the world”

Oh, did he offend people who intend to kill all of us? Good.

“and the Pope and his 1.2 million adherents.”

Badmouthing Frankie the Commie only offends low-information Catholics.

What’s really, really just ‘lie down on the bathroom floor and barf yourself right to death’ disgusting is repeating falsehoods.

Lillian Pinkus needs to grow a pair.

Obama is not her friend in any way, shape or form.

Wake up, woman.
