Ted Cruz: Donald Trump is ‘scared to debate’
Washington Times ^ | March 17, 2016 | David Sherfinski

Posted on 03/18/2016 9:07:24 AM PDT by reaganaut1

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas says GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump is scared to debate and that Mr. Trump looks down on voters, counting on them to believe whatever he tells them.

Mr. Trump, citing a prior commitment to speak at a policy conference hosted by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), said Wednesday he would not be attending the GOP presidential debate that had been scheduled for March 21 but was ultimately cancelled.

“His excuse is silliness, and it reflects his assumption that he thinks the voters can’t figure out that he’s not telling [them] the truth,” Mr. Cruz said on Wednesday evening’s “The Kelly File” on Fox News.

Mr. Cruz pointed out that the conference hosted by AIPAC is a multi-day event — it runs from Sunday to Tuesday — and Mr. Trump’s schedule would likely have been accommodated.

“He chose to speak right in the middle of the debate [because] he’s scared to debate,” Mr. Cruz said.

“And, you know, he just, he looks down on the voters,” Mr. Cruz said. “He thinks they’re gullible and will believe whatever he’s saying. So I’m going to be in D.C. for AIPAC as well since Donald is running away from the debate. I’m happy to debate him there. If he wants, we can debate foreign policy, but the problem is, Donald doesn’t do very well in foreign policy [because] he doesn’t have even a basic modicum of knowledge.”

Mr. Cruz said he’s happy to debate Mr. Trump in Utah, where the Fox News debate was to be held, or Washington, D.C., or anywhere else.

I have come to the conclusion that there is not much honorable about Donald Trump. He got in the race and took his chances like every one else. When things were going his way he was sort of decent, but when others especially Cruz began to gain on him he started with the name calling and slandering and screaming and buffaloing his way through the debates and just literally ruining them for those of us who had tuned in for information. And when Cruz called him on it, he ADMITTED he was just saying it because Cruz was rising in the polls. If this was a bicycle race, he would be riding with a stick to poke it in their spokes when they try to pass him.

I can’t tell if your post was meant to be ironic or serious.

Mr. Trump looks down on voters, counting on them to believe whatever he tells them.

Cruz doubles down. Trump supporters are ignorant.

What’s disgusting is how Trump people lie all day about ‘lyin Ted’ with bogus character assassinations then exclaim Ted should ask DT for SCOTUS as bringing nothing as VP. Biggest gathering of hypocrites ever.

Thanks, Cruz is a boring robot. Snooze and lose with Cruz. If Trump wasn’t in the election you would get your life back.

How could Cruz need 48% when Trump has more delegates than him? So that number is wrong. 75% was probably before all the delegates were concluded on the 15th. Its now 90% according to drudge

That’s funny. Trumpsters don’t have to worry about Cruz living inside their heads. So they actually have a life not having to make themselves believe that their candidate still has a snowball’s chance.

Cruz is so boring he can’t get people to protest his event. If it wasn’t for Beck threatening to stab someone why would anyone pay attention.

Cruz wants to debate, because he needs the attention.

As Rush said this morning, the newsies are ignoring Cruz and lauding Kasich this week.

Ironically, a few months ago, Kasich was complaining because HE wasn’t getting enough newsie coverage, so people didn’t really know who he was. At least, that was the excuse he gave in interviews for his low poll numbers.

His voice is starting to grind on my nerves almost as much as Hillary’s. I cringe whenever I hear his voice.

Cruz giving any sort of speech is preferable to listening to Trump blab blab on and on saying nothing. I really get embarrassed for him sometimes it is so pathetic.

The entire “lyin-ted” slander trump worked up ruined any ability I could muster to support trump.

I hope trumpers like Hillary (or more likely joe Biden) bc that’s who is going to be president.
