CNBC's Jim Cramer: Trump Has 'Real Things to Say' About Economy
newsmax.com ^ | F McGuire

Posted on 03/18/2016 6:27:56 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

CNBC's Jim Cramer cautions voters that you shouldn’t write off everything Donald Trump says as controversial sound bites on the nightly news.

"Trump has real things to say. They may not be what you think, and they often seem like wishful thinking. But you need to know his views, not just how he is doing coming around the far turn," the "Mad Money" host said.

Cramer believes the U.S. “has been crushed on almost every single trade deal it has done, going all the way back to Nafta,” CNBC reported. “And every time Cramer has asked an official of either party to name a deal that was signed in the last decade that has given the U.S. a trade surplus, no one could come up with an answer,” the report said.

Donald Trump has said other countries are unfairly taking advantage of the U.S. through a combination of high taxes on American products and devaluing their own currencies. The billionaire has urged extreme tariffs — 35 percent on Ford vehicles from Mexico and 45 percent on Chinese goods — to help the U.S. regain the upper hand.

Trump has complained that China, Japan, Mexico, Vietnam and India are "ripping us off" by devaluing their currencies and keeping out some U.S. exports.

I wish issues would be discussed more too but there is very little likelihood of that happening during a Presidential election in 2016

Hey Jim!

Trump can’t complete two sentences of substance on a single subject.

Pointing to his webpage doesn’t cut it!

Trump is correct. This election is about the survival of America and that centers on the economy and stopping the influx of illegals. Trump is the only contestant who can get us on the right track because he understands what is going on. He is the only one who will bring back American Sovereignty and kick out the New World Order Advocate who are busy selling out America.
Look at his Foreign Affairs Adviser, Jeff Sessions. The only one in Congress who has been telling it like it is for YEARS!
If you love America you will vote for Trump.

Trump has a speaking style that is bloody damn well effective! More people than ever know what he is talking about. Sorry you can’t understand plain old English!

Recycling 12 adjectives over 9 months is gibberish....not “plain old English”.

Like Newt Gingrich said “The one thing I’ve always found to be true with Trump is, I think he learns faster than any other political figure I’ve known except Bill Clinton.” The candidate himself admitted he hasn’t started to act presidential. So there is hope.

Obviously you prefer speeches written by someone else and read off a teleprompter, or someone memorizing a speech which he delivers like a threatening sermon.
I, having done much public speaking in my life, prefer and admire someone who can connect with the crowd and cause the kind of high spirited movement Trump creates. Politics for the first time in fifty years is getting to be fun. Too bad you’re stuck on the same old political merry-go-round with the same old rhetoric which is all sound and fury, signifying nothing.
GO TRUMP!

Trump's speeches are kind of like rap music.

Loud, profane stilted sound bites all about money and deals and power, and all full of bluster and ego. And lots of people seem to like that sort of thing.

The “hope” candidates have never interested me.

I go with the evidence.

Uh,,,,”sound and fury, signifying nothing” IS the Trump campaign!

He’s a carnival barker and you’re buying.

I prefer the depth of someone who has argued and won 9 Supreme Court cases.

THAT is substance, not “rhetoric”.

Hitler connected with the crowds, too.

Well, obviously Trump has real things to say about the economy because he has in the past and will in the future.

Of course he does, Cramer. The man makes his living by making good deals of all type. Including trade. So why is he so successful and the hacks in DC are the bumbling jacks who are too ignorant to learn they know nothing. Being successful like Mr. Trump is far more superior than being dead broke, still spending money as our elected DC critters are want to do.

By the way, you of eloquent knowledge of our English language. You speak of Trump’s inability to construct two sentences in sequence. Your lack of ability to understand says much about you. Americans have no problem in understanding the man’s speech and yet we commoners are presumed the lowest on the IQ scale. What does that say about you? He speaks as we speak. Not in elite language, but plain, everyday, simple language of the people. Suggest you come down from your ivory tower and begin learning the lingo.
Good day, sir.

...hence the rap music analogy. It’s all about money, bitches, and power, at least to the idiot masses who largely support Trump.

Part of me kind of hopes Trump wins so the idiotic populist masses get EXACTLY what they think they wanted. Then, when the price of consumer goods skyrockets thanks to Trump’s proposed (illegal) and misguided tariffs, they can cry that that’s not what they meant.

We get the government we deserve. It’s Idiocracy, except in real life. The people, who don’t understand rudimentary economics, support a man who doesn’t understand rudimentary economics. The results will be predictable.

Why Trump Is Winning: The Hypocrisy — And Disaster — Of American Trade Policy

— by Eamonn Fingleton at forbes.com

~ ~ ~ ~

Now finally after Donald Trump’s apotheosis, Americans are beginning to learn the truth. Factory workers in the old Soviet Union had a cynical joke: ‘We pretend to work. They [the bosses] pretend to pay us.’

Similar logic applies in the world trading system. Washington pretends to write the rules; other nations pretend to obey them. For two generations already, increasingly pathetic American trade officials have turned a blind eye to the blatant barriers facing American exports in key foreign markets.

The result has been a tragic roll-call of factory closures in the American heartland. The problem with free trade is... [snip]
