Its 'populism' by definition.

There's always been a significant percentage of them here.

But like you I'm surprised at just how many there are.

And the hate and low information. Earlier on another thread dealing with Chuck Grassley saying there would be no SC nominee hearing, a poster called him turtle face.

A more knowledgeable FReeper pointed out that Grassley was not McConnell.

The snappy reply was “what should I call him then cowface?”

The poster didn’t know who Grassley was and obviously didn’t know that Grassley had done something I thought FReepers wanted. Nevertheless the cowface poster’s default reaction was name calling. Sounds like low information to me.

Guys like Mark Levin like to over intellectualize the term “Populism” into a pejorative. The were all for Joe Bag lunch voting for guys like Jeff Sessions, Mike Lee and Ted Cruz. Once Joe Bag Lunch went off the reservation and saw the writing on the wall that a loaf of stale bread like Cruz was unelectable the intellectual elites in the conservative movement, the guys at Nation Review, and conservative talk radio turned on them. They really do thing we are stupid and uninformed.

Why are you surprised?

Our country is literally burning to the ground. Trump wins across every demographic, because most Americans clearly see that this isn't a time for ideological purity, but a time for putting out the fire before everything's lost.

America is the house and Trump is the fireman come to save it.

"I'm surprised at just how many [populists] there are [here]. "

Not only how many, but also how vitriolic they are. Not only are they on their kneepads for populism, they absolutely hate the conservative alternative and let everyone know it.
