Several more GOP senators say they are willing to meet with President Barack Obama's nominee to the Supreme Court seat left open by the sudden death of Justice Antonin Scalia.
As Breitbart News reported earlier, Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) 33%, Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) 45%, and Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME)14% said they would be willing to meet with Judge Merrick Garland of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.
"Judge Garland is a capable and accomplished jurist," Collins said in a statement. "The White House has requested that I meet with him, and I look forward to doing so, as has been my practice with all Supreme Court nominees."
Collins reportedly said she did not think Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) 44% would cave on considering Garland's nomination:
I don't see the majority leader changing his mind on this issue. He believes strongly that this should be a decision made by the next president. I don't agree with that decision, but I respect it. The irony, however, will be if the next president, whoever that may be, ends up nominating a person who is far more liberal than Judge Garland, who is considered to be a centrist.
"I meet with people," Flake said. "That's what I do."
Flake is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee - all the Republican members of which sent a letter last month to McConnell informing him they will not hold any hearings on Obama's eventual nominee for the vacant seat.

Unless Obama invited them first to meet with him. It’s my understanding that you do not refuse an invite from POTUS.

I got a call from the RNC ,last night, looking for money. I just unleashed on the young man. He told me how important is was to keep both houses and I asked him why since there doesn’t seem to be any difference between the parties. He didn’t know what to say. I politely thanked him and hung up.
The EPA has done more to destroy American industry than any other Agency. They've fought oil coal, natural gas, mining, ranching, manufacturing, every step of the way, and closed down some industry, while those who could packed up and moved to another country.
We need to get rid of them. But Trump is going to keep them.

I think this post garnered several hundred thousand MORE votes for the candidate the GOP(e) hates the most. They have pointed the revolver at their own heads and keep pulling the trigger...It’s called REPUBLICAN Roulette.

Could this be by design? McConnell says to his boys “Ok, say what ever you want to provide yourself cover for your own Senate elections, and I’ll continue to be the bad guy and take all the arrows for refusing to consider the nomination”.
Does Mitch have it in him to do something like that?
